Just as shown. All you have to do is screw in the perch. It fits fine. Was easy for me to hang in their cage now let's hope for babies.

I loved the design of this nest, since I bought a couple of birds and they are very comfortable to check the eggs

For the price, I'm even a little disappointed in this product. I used it in an outdoor aviary and discovered it's partly glued with a glue that moisture destroys so I had one fall part. Parts are screwed together. The wood (balsa?) can be eaten by any bird that I've tried them with, even budgies. A cockatiel would the whole box (I bought a cockatiel box too). I had to put packing tape on the edges to deter them. I think they are not bad for a one-time use sort of situation, but plywood would probably be a botter option. The metal opening adds a star to my review as it's nicely done.

i put this on the bottom of the cage for when the babies first leave the nest and are not sure of thier wings... leave the top door open so they can come and go as they please and they can still cuddle together but not be restricted as they are in a closed nest box..... it is perfect for them so far have had 2 groups use like that and they seem very content in it and are easy to lift to my finger to start finger training.
