Cute Book
I was looking for a book for my kindergartener to take to school to be read to help other children understand her diabetes. This book was cute but not really what I was looking for.

A must have for parents of children with T1D
This book is a must have for parents to read to their T1D warriors. My 6 year old daughter was diagnosed a few months ago and she loved reading this book and seeing the pictures. The entire time she kept saying "Just like me! He's wearing a monitor on his arm that looks just like mine! He has to do all of the same stuff that I do!" It does a great job of explaining the disease and what it entails. I'm going to see if my daughter's teacher will read this to her class at the beginning of next school year to help them understand.

Excellent book for the entire family
This was a touching and beautifully illustrated book about a child and his family dealing with diabetes. It is not only entertaining, but also very educational for people that do not know much about living with diabetes. It is fun to read and even rhymes! This is the perfect book to read with your children since they can be both entertained and gain some knowledge. Olsi Tola's art fits the narrative perfectly. If I were to ever get to meet the esteemed author in person then I would hope he would personally sign my copy of this book.

Thank you Mr. Suarez!
This book follows my niece’s journey from day 1 with Type 1. Super important for her to feel seen and not alone. A true gem.

Great for building empathy and understanding
I was looking for a book for my son to understand what his T1D friends were dealing with and this was the perfect book for that. I couldn’t imagine being a parent and dealing with this new normal for your child. The book did a great job making it not so scary. Easy to read and I just loved it.

gets to the point so you can have conversations!
So I think the rhyme distracts from the overall narrative but it's pretty good. Anyone from Massachusetts can related to some details about Children's Hospital in Boston. It gives the basics of what's going on so you can then start to answer questions and get specific with your own child's particular needs.

This book is easy to understand for a young child. It’s a good book for the whole family to read together. It’s spot on.

Touching book
Wow what a beautiful written book! This book really touched me. My 3 year old boy has just been diagnosed. Whilst I read this to him I really choked up. He really enjoyed reading it and thought it was him in the book as the story was identical to his.

Best children's book on diabetes I've found
I ordered a number of the children's books on diabetes, but this is the only one I kept. The story is nice with good pictures, and allows us to relate our own experience of diagnosis and discuss that with our two-year-old. I like that there is a picture of children wearing sensors and playing, it's always nice to point out other children "like you".
