exactly as advertised
I have used these heel plates for years. They're slightly larger than the ones I used previously, but they do a GREAT job of preventing rapid wearing-down of the shoes' heels. I have read complaints that the adhesive comes off with the paper backing - you need to very carefully note where the adhesive backing ends & pull only on the paper backing, otherwise you will, indeed, pull off the adhesive backing. For the complaint about the adhesive not working - you need to clean the heel surface first (a quick pass with sandpaper or a scouring pad used to clean pots & dishes will work), dry it, then apply the adhesive-backed heel plate. If you leave the nail heads sticking up above the surface of the plate, those heads will quickly wear down & you may, indeed, lose your plate; I use a punch to drive the nail heads down deeper so the plate strikes the hard surface, not the nail head.

These work well on hard heeled shoes and boots. ...
These work well on hard heeled shoes and boots. You'll need to use the nails to really hold them on. Don't work on sneakers or crape heels, but I tried anyway. Wish someone would invent inexpensive replaceable soles for these soft soled shoes.....

CHASE THE GOBBLER NOT THE COBBLER !!!!!!!!
THIS PURCHASE OF 50 PAIR0F HEEL PLATES OR CLEATS- NO WAY CAN YOU GO WRONG!GO TO THE BIG BOX STORE AND YOU''LL PAY ON THE AVERAGE $4.95 FOR JUST 2 PAIRS IF YOU CAN FIND THEM AT THE SHOE POLISH AND SHOE LACE RACK IN MOST STORES. EASY INSTALLATION IF YOU DON'T HAVE A ''SHOE LAST'' IS TO CUT A 2X4 PIECE OF WOOD ABOUT 22 INCHES (this is a good size for regular shoes and cowboy boots) and then get ready. lay a white sheet of cloth or towel on the floor to catch some of the nails that will be flying while you are pounding the heel nails into your footwear. a hot tip is to hold the nails with needle nose pliers in one hand and a small hammer in the other and go to town fastening your new heel protectors!!! THANKS AGAIN FOR A GREAT INEXPENSIVE WAY OF PROTECTING MY FOOTWEAR! NOW FOLKS YOU CAN SPEND YOUR TIME CHASING THE GOBBLER INSTEAD OF THE COBBLER!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS- THANKS AMAZON==IRONMAN BRACKENRIDGE PA.==

Taps good, nails not good.
The taps themselves were very good. But, the nails that we received with them were "junk". The heads were too big to go into the recessed portion of the taps. They were too short, and were not ringed nails as advertised. My husband had to buy nails that would do the job.

Excellent stick, very durable and very quiet
I used to use metal on my right heel because of a LLD. It was embarrassing to hear it all day long when I walked on hard floors, but it saved me aches and pains. These work just as well and are completely silent. I will be rebuying these likely as long as I continue to walk or until my right leg grows or my left leg shrinks to match.

Saves lots of money.
This product will save you a lot of money by extending the life of your shoes. The plates will last about 6 months to a year (depending on use). When the plates wear out, it takes about 1 minute to remove the warm plates and install new ones.

These work well, the nails included are fine! I'm happy with these heel plates
I used these on both leather and rubber Heel/Toes , it was a bit tough to install them in the leather but when they went in they went in good!It was easier to install in the rubber, but they may need additional glue (which is no big deal),perhaps a bit of shoe goo.I'm happy with these heel plates

Delivered as ordered. Good quality.
For many years, my heels would wear along the outer edges. Repairs were time-consuming and pretty expensive. Now I but these large (#6) heel taps and tack one on each side of the heel, and evey 3-4 weeks, I replace the outer side as it starts to wear down. The rest of my shoes stay pretty much wear-free for a very long time. This merchant provides the #6 "Traveller/Step" brand polyurathane heel taps at a reasonable price.
