Mielle Organics Rosemary & Mint Edge Control Gel - Strong Hold Hair & Edge Gel for Women & Men - Infused with Biotin, Coconut & Babassu Oil to Encourage Longer, Healthier Hair (2 Fl Oz)

Revision 05/14/2023: I am still using daily the same 2oz container of Rosemary Mint Edge I purchased in December, 2022. A tube of conventional hair gel would normally last me two months at the most. I can see this lasting at least until July. Amazing product! ------------- An update to my original review below. I started using this product in December being very impressed by the Rosemary Mint shampoo, oil and masque I had previously purchased. Although the gel is in a 2oz container (without tamper proof protection - which is disconcerting) I have to say that just a little goes a long way. I use this daily and it will probably be the beginning of March before I need to purchase again. So with my usage it probably lasts three months. Although this appears to be marketed for women and particularly those of African descent - Mielle's Rosemary Mint products are suitable for ALL hair types, regardless of race and gender. I am an aging Caucasian male with fine, thinning, grey hair and my wife is Asian with strong thick hair. We both love the Mielle Rosemary Mint range of hair products. My method of applying the Rosemary Mint Edge Gel: after shampooing and while hair is still damp, take a very small amount of the gel spread on fingertips and tap or stroke it over combed hair. Comb again to style. When hair is dry, comb out. Result: a natural soft style without the glue-like residue or brittleness of commercial gels. Use of the Mielle Rosemary Mint range leaves the scalp clean and refreshed. I highly recommend this product but wish that it would come with a tamper proof seal. --- Previous review below --- The Mielle Organics Rosemary range of products are generally wonderful. The shampoo, masque, rosemary hair oil are all reasonably priced per quantity and quality. I ordered the Rosemary "Edge Gel" which only comes in a 2oz size and costs $6.99. It arrived without tamper proof protection and appeared to be around 5/8ths full which caused me to wonder whether someone else had sampled it along the way. An 8oz tube of conventional hair gel costs around the same. The product works fine - but miserly in quantity and therefore too expensive. I would suggest that Mielle Organics at least double the quantity for that price. I am also puzzled why they market their product as "By women for women". That cuts out a good portion of the population. There is nothing overtly feminine about the herb Rosemary - which has been in popular use as a medicine, topical application, cleanser and culinary herb for centuries.

This is not your average size gel so if you're expecting the full size norm you'll be very surprised it's a tab bit larger than a Jell-O shot cup but it does work very well it'll be hard to get the product that the jar if you have nails and toothbrush will not fit in there they brush you for your baby hairs we barely fit in there it's not very greasy and it does control well

I use this edge control gel on my daughter’s hair, especially when she wears updos, and it really helps keep everything neat and smooth. The hold is strong enough to last through the school day without constant touch-ups, which is a big plus. The rosemary and mint scent is refreshing but not overpowering, and I like that it’s made with biotin and nourishing oils, it feels better using something that’s not just about hold but also has some care benefits. The texture is smooth, spreads easily with a brush, and doesn’t leave her hair flaky or sticky. The jar is small, but since we only need a little each time, it lasts longer than I thought. For kids’ styles or polished looks, it’s been a reliable go-to in our routine.

Order Came fast, smells really good not to oily. Just started using it so I will do a update in a week to let you know how its going.

The container is small. The scent is light and not unpleasant. The hold does not last long on curly edges. And because it is oily, you can’t layer upon it to add more hold without it looking greasy. I would not purchase this again for securing edges but it did work great while flat twisting to keep twists neat, clean and moisturized.

Perfect for my edges!! I love all the ingredients. It's soft and moisturizing and I think it has helped me with my edges. I was surprised when I received that little jar for that price, I'll deal with it for now

Repeat customer. A little goes a long way and lasts. The Rosemary helps with thinning edges, and for those with edges thick enough to swirl, you will be happy. Don't be intimidated by the small container. A little goes a long way.

I really enjoy using this, yes it’s small but I only use for my edges and so far I’ve already seen an improvement as they were thinning quite badly. It’s the perfect texture/consistency. Has staying power but not too hard or flaky! I will keep buying this as my edges seem to be growing back and I’ve only used for over a week.

Works well, and is good value.
