Mielle Organics Rosemary & Mint Edge Control Gel - Strong Hold Hair & Edge Gel for Women & Men - Infused with Biotin, Coconut & Babassu Oil to Encourage Longer, Healthier Hair (2 Fl Oz)

Revision 05/14/2023: I am still using daily the same 2oz container of Rosemary Mint Edge I purchased in December, 2022. A tube of conventional hair gel would normally last me two months at the most. I can see this lasting at least until July. Amazing product! ------------- An update to my original review below. I started using this product in December being very impressed by the Rosemary Mint shampoo, oil and masque I had previously purchased. Although the gel is in a 2oz container (without tamper proof protection - which is disconcerting) I have to say that just a little goes a long way. I use this daily and it will probably be the beginning of March before I need to purchase again. So with my usage it probably lasts three months. Although this appears to be marketed for women and particularly those of African descent - Mielle's Rosemary Mint products are suitable for ALL hair types, regardless of race and gender. I am an aging Caucasian male with fine, thinning, grey hair and my wife is Asian with strong thick hair. We both love the Mielle Rosemary Mint range of hair products. My method of applying the Rosemary Mint Edge Gel: after shampooing and while hair is still damp, take a very small amount of the gel spread on fingertips and tap or stroke it over combed hair. Comb again to style. When hair is dry, comb out. Result: a natural soft style without the glue-like residue or brittleness of commercial gels. Use of the Mielle Rosemary Mint range leaves the scalp clean and refreshed. I highly recommend this product but wish that it would come with a tamper proof seal. --- Previous review below --- The Mielle Organics Rosemary range of products are generally wonderful. The shampoo, masque, rosemary hair oil are all reasonably priced per quantity and quality. I ordered the Rosemary "Edge Gel" which only comes in a 2oz size and costs $6.99. It arrived without tamper proof protection and appeared to be around 5/8ths full which caused me to wonder whether someone else had sampled it along the way. An 8oz tube of conventional hair gel costs around the same. The product works fine - but miserly in quantity and therefore too expensive. I would suggest that Mielle Organics at least double the quantity for that price. I am also puzzled why they market their product as "By women for women". That cuts out a good portion of the population. There is nothing overtly feminine about the herb Rosemary - which has been in popular use as a medicine, topical application, cleanser and culinary herb for centuries.

It holds the edges in place for 24 hours. And I love it. They also have another one the pomegranate and honey. I got both. But the pomegranate and honey is my favorite. It does moisturize my hair no flakes and no residue. This is the best edge control I ever came across. My natural hair is a 4c. Yes the edge control is medium thick. Because if it was light my hair would curl up. That’s why I don’t use gel. Because gel will make the hair curl.

I purchased this to get ahead of my postpartum hair loss which typically starts at month 3. So far so good. But I should have checked the size before ordering because I was shocked at how small the jar is. I assumed it’d be at least 4oz for some reason. See second photo for size comparison. It’s just 2 oz but it’s meant to be used in small amounts only on edges so it should last. The gel feels nice on the edges of my hair. It looks like a gel but smoothed in its more like a pomade. It doesn’t harden like a gel would. So don’t expect hard hold from this. On the bright side it does flatten my edges without hardening which provides a more natural look with shine and softness. Also it’s not sticky or flaky with residue. For reference I have natural 3b-3c curly hair.

It's the best all natural edge gel that actually keeps it hold all day and smells wonderful and natural of Rosemary and Mint. I know guys usually use thus stuff but I have shoulder length hir and simply use a dab just in the very front to keep my hair back out if my face and it works perfect!

Smells good... feels good

Didn't hold my natural hair in place. The jar is small can fit in the palm of your hand. I used half the jar on one hair style. I even used a head band to hold the hair in place until it dried. The smell is a little strong like the rosemary mint shampoo by Mielle

This is a great product but I ordered it on 4/13/2026 and it's finally being delivered want order this again from Amazon

This product actually works on split ends n helps strengthening my hair. The smell is divine.

I really enjoy using this, yes it’s small but I only use for my edges and so far I’ve already seen an improvement as they were thinning quite badly. It’s the perfect texture/consistency. Has staying power but not too hard or flaky! I will keep buying this as my edges seem to be growing back and I’ve only used for over a week.

I'm honest person writing honest review about the product. It has been almost 2 weeks or more of use and I'm telling you it works, I'm noticing hair growth around my hairline area. My only theory why it works while other organic oil products didn't do much because it is a gel, it last longer on the scalp and nourish it. I will make an update later to see how far my hairline grow hair. Update: I ordered it for the second time , I have been using it for almost two months now, the hairline is improving rapidlly. Honestly I'm getting little bit suspicious because it makes the hair grow fast almost as if they added minoxidil or some medication hair treatment(something chemically) into the mix. I hope I'm wrong about this...
