Guess they'll serve their purpose?
After some lovely 2-story houses were built with a view right into my backyard, I decided I needed some wide outdoor (inexpensive) blinds for my patio. I contemplated some at Home Depot that were about $25 each, but opted for these sturdier-looking blinds instead. I ordered 3 of these blinds and they arrived promptly as promised.I took the first one out of the box and noticed many of the slats were bent/creased/warped. Not a huge deal-breaker since they weren't technically split or broken in two, and it was a defect I could live with since these were for mainly for utilitarian purposes, not necessarily for the aesthetic value. They were easy to hang--the eyelet hooks actually have a small area to slide if your measurements weren't exact. I unrolled it and voila! An extra section of slats adhered to one side??? What was this??? They did peel off easily, so there's that...The second set of blinds was similar to the first, with bent slats. Sigh. Oh well, if they blocked 95% of my new neighbor's view, who cares, right? I hung them up, unrolled, and voila! Another section of slats adhered to it. Now I started thinking that they were meant to be there??? What purpose would they serve? Nope, the instructions had no mention of bonus sections of slats in them. Hmmm.Onto the third set of blinds. I slid them out of the box and removed the plastic shrinkwrap. Was ready to hang, but what's this? One of the main hooks was broken. Not the hook itself, but the plastic appendage that is holding the cord there. Now how was I going to hang this up? I wasn't. So now it's on it's way back to Amazon for a replacement. I didn't even unroll it to see if it too had the extra slats stuck to it.I hope the replacement set is at least in the same ho-hum condition as the first two. So long as they block the neighbors I can live with the damage. Will update if necessary....

For the price (very inexpensive), they are a good product. I'm a 62 yr old female and installed them in my shop on a window that's 10' high (they don't come to the bottom, but that's okay). It's commercial construction, so I know there was a metal sheetrock strip along the upper window. I drilled a small pilot hole and screwed in the hooks. It only took me a half-hour to have them up. For those that have mentioned that there's a strip of slats stuck to the blinds -- that's for the top -- you hook that to the hooks also to cover the top bracket. In other words, it's a valance. I also did have a couple of slats that were slightly bent on arrival, but not noticeable enough to care about. They filter out the sunlight, but let enough light in so the space is still well lite without the sun's rays damaging the furniture.

Third try is the charm? Yes it is...
OK, this is an update to my previous post (see below). Finally got and installed the correct blinds. And, for the price, you can't beat um'. Just fair warning, they are see-through. We live on a busy road with a lot of traffic so we wanted some inexpensive "blinds" to add to our curtains in the front main window. But for a 96" wide window, your talking $$$. These are a great alternative and with the curtains they provide complete privacy. I've actually had guests compliment us on them. Little do they know how cheap they are!Original Post:To be fair, I can't tell whether I like these blinds or not only that the first time I received the wrong size and color and upon returning that order I received a totally different product (a floating shelf). Will update this review when I received the correct product. Hopefully...

roll-up shade
The slats were not as wide as the picture showed. I guess I expected it to be more heavy duty.

HORRIBLE QUALITY
DO NOT buy these. They are extremely flimsy. I ordered 3 of them to use outside to shade my porch. Two out of 3 were damaged when they arrived (I haven't opened the third box yet). They are brittle in the way that old plastic gets and crack/crumble when held. Some of the slats are also warped/folded and look bad. On a positive note, the roll up mechanism works well.

The worst quality I've ever seen
The two outer lifter guides were broken, making it impossible to raise shade. Out of the box, the cords were hopelessly tangled. 3 magic marker marks on the white blind. Deep crease in "decorative" top panel. The entire thing was cheap crap. Flimsy, poorly made and damaged. This was supposed to solve a problem (too much sun on my porch), not create a new problem!

Works great to keep out rain and sun
I use this on my deck to block rain in the winter and sun in the middle of summer. It see to take a beating from the wind and still holding up. I would buy this again. I usually have to get a new one every year or so, but this seems like it would last longer.
