This jar opener works well. I have severe RA and my hands are very affected. I am able to open most jars with this, when I cannot, people without my issues will struggle to to open the jar, so I feel vindicated. Adjusts for a variety of sizes.

I love this. I am 70 years old and can't open most jars anymore. There isn't always someone that can help me. I've had one for many years and it's been the best. I don't remember a jar I couldn't open with this. I recently went to stay with a sister for a month and she and I both struggled to get jars open. She bought a couple things at stores and neither one worked so I got on my phone and ordered this from Amazon for her. She is delighted. Then I went to spend time with a good friend and she couldn't get her jars open! Well, I gave her one, too. Seriously...why aren't these in every grocery store in America? They're great.

I bought this one to augment another of near identical design. I put the old one in the bathroom to use for opening vitamin jars and nasal spray bottles. I like this new one a bit better than the old one and I use it in the kitchen for opening water bottles and various sized other jars. It completely meets my needs and makes my arthritic hands a non factor in the process. Personally I couldn't live without it.

This jar opener is a basic jar opener that works, so there is no reason to look for anything else buy this product from Amazon why run to a retail store where you can have a delivered the next day

The item I received was not the item pictured on the site. What I got is also a jar opener but not the one I expected. I thought I was buying one just like what Mom had in her kitchen while I was growing up - a simple hinged gizmo with a couple of diamond shaped bends that would accommodate a wide range of jar lids. The item pictured looked like it had a rubberized/plastic coating for grip over a fairly smooth metal tube. What I got looks a lot like the suggested product listed on this page, Leifheit-Extra-Stainless-Opener-Silver. It works, but I don't think it can address as wide a range of sizes and is a much more complex design than the tool I thought I was purchasing.

I have given these to several family members in the past, then they suddenly were no longer available. This model is pretty much the same as the older one, and I find this item to be extremely useful for everyone! I have arthritis in my hands, and sometimes find it hard to open a new screw-top lid, even the ones on plastic bottles. This will conform to just about any diameter you need, and is a lifesaver! So I bought several to give to those that I had not given them to previously!

As I have gotten older, I am finding it more difficult to open jars. I got this to see if it would work and it totally does! I used to end up trying to pry the lid enough to break the seal, so don't have to do that now. It still take a bit of effort, but it is easier to squeeze those handles together to open the jar that to try to squeeze the jar lid to get a good enough grip to open it.

Love this product, way better then the gimmicky motorized openers that sometimes work but often simply fail. This works all the time and is super easy and effortless to use. It can be used on to open a small bottle or a large jar, all with ease.

Saves damaging nails, cuts. Worth it. We have 2.
