Sheaffer 300 Chrome Ballpoint Pen with Gold Tone Trim

I got one as a present and got one for my wife

The chrome and gold two-tone Sheaffer 300 ballpoint pen is a large, attractive pen that feels weighty. I’d describe this as a medium point pen, and it retracts by a twisting mechanism. I had to adapt to writing with this pen as I’ve grown so accustomed to writing with skinny, lightweight disposable pens and this pen didn’t feel balanced to me at first. I’d probably still prefer a thinner pen, but I do find this pen reasonably comfortable now that I’ve changed my grip and hold it lower where it’s thinner and let the weight of the pen rest against my hand. This pen glides smoothly, and I’ve experienced no ink skipping or blotting issues. This pen came with black ink that’s too light for my taste, so I’ll be buying a blue refill soon. I’m at a desk all day and enjoy having a more attractive, executive looking pen. This pen comes nicely presented in a box for gifting. Overall, I like this Sheaffer pen a lot. 4 stars.

Foremost, this is gift-ready. It comes in a sharp-looking box, with a lovely sleeve. Likewise, the presentation in the box is all style (see picture). The pen feels great in-hand. It has a nice heft and a lovely balance. I felt no fatigue even after a prolonged period of grading papers. Moreover, it holds up really nicely. I expected the pen to need to be polished after a good deal of handling. So far, there has been no tarnish or need to polish it. Very surprising. The ballpoint aspect is super smooth and does not smudge. This is a perfect gift for the holidays: it is priced lower than most pens, it looks stunning, and it is truly useful. Highly recommended to anyone seeking a pen around this price-point.

This is a really nice pen. It is pretty big, making it great for men or someone with large hands. It comes in a nice box making it nice to give as a gift. It writes well.

Although the look of this ballpoint pen may say buy me try it out first. If you like a heavy pen you may enjoy the weight. I did not mind that as much as I did that the pen was not ergonomic to my hand. I like the even flow of ink but was disappointed in how my writing appeared as a result of the lack of fit to my hand. Again, this is a thicker heavier pen so someone with a big hand may enjoy writing with it.

Beautiful pen. The chrome is not as white-silver as shown in the photos, but it is very nice quality chrome. Looks very elegant with the gold accents. It's a heavy, thick pen, so avoid it if you don't want those qualities. Those are my preferences, so I love it. It writes very smoothly. Never a skip in all the uses I've given it so far. Beautifully packaged for giving.

If you or someone in the family wears a suit and works in an office this is a decent gift. Beyond that for the rest of us who use a BIC, this may seem much too costly for a writing instrument. My dad had CROSS, and Parker pens when I was younger, and they were really nice, but I kind of hated to take them to school. Mainly because when I occasionally lost one, the cost was pretty prohibitive. I don't know the gold content, here, but the price is a bit much for me, it's more of a status gift. A mild recommend if you have someone who holds an exec or position in an office setting. For most of us, too expensive a pen.

I got the ballpoint model. It feels and look way more expensive than it is. It is very classy. Writes like a dream. Feels great in the hand. Comes nicely packaged. This would make a fantastic gift.
