Travelpro Maxlite 5 Expandable Carry-On Hardside Spinner (Azure Blue, Carry-On 21-Inch)

It's not easy shopping online for a good carry-on suitcase!After a lot of research and a return of a different model that had confusing measurement specifications (it was a couple of inches shorter than this one), the Travelpro Maxlite 5 Hardside Expandable Spinner ticked all the boxes: lightweight, big (I believe it's right at the maximum size for a carry on), great wheels (this case is replacing one I picked up at Costco years ago whose wheels don't roll so well anymore), sturdy enough, and not too expensive.One thing that is missing is an internal zippered pocket. I like to keep a luggage scale in my suitcase to ensure I don't trip any weight limitations (yeah, I carry a lot of books at times). As my usual mode of traveling is to wait until the last possible minute to pack, yup that would be panic packing, it's one less thing to worry about knowing that the scale is in its proper place. I solved this issue by using a carabineer to clip in a small travel pouch I had lying around onto the case's internal tie-down strapsBTW, for me spinners are the to go… much more convenient & maneuverable than traditional roll-a-boards (i.e., two wheels) and well worth the somewhat smaller internal size the wheels necessitate.

I really like this suitcase. I spent a lot of time looking for the ideal case for work trips, I wanted convenience, something light I could pack for a 4-5 day trip, and carry on. This checked all of the boxes, and this brand seems to be a favorite for flight staff. It holds a lot, even before being expanded. I packed 5 days of clothes, my hairbrush dryer, four books, my cosmetics, three gifts, a jewelry box, and several other things in this bag, and it closed with no problem. At the airport, it is a dream to use. It glides incredibly well, it is very smooth and gave me absolutely no trouble. Upon inspection when I returned, it doesn't appear scuffed or anything, nothing was damaged, and the TSA lock was a nice security blanket mentally for me, as I had to leave my case in my boss's car all day during a work retreat. I'd hands down buy this again. I'll update if I discover anything I dislike, but as of now, no complaints. I'm intending to buy more bags from them before summer, since I really need to replace the rest of my set.

Great luggage! The only thing I don't like is the lock which was very flimsy and the orientation of where the zipped compartment is. Not intuitive at all.

Got this case because my husband (who’s a pilot) highly recommended this brand. I wanted something to replace my old luggage set I got in high school, but nothing plain & black (I like to KNOW it’s my luggage when I see it)...or super cheap.This thing is SUUUPER light & extremely easy to maneuver. I liked the dusty rose-gold color of the pictures...however it is NOT that color in person, it’s much more of a gold-ish lavender. It’s still beautiful & I’m keeping it! I just thought I’d post some pics to show the true color.Overall this will suit my needs just fine & im excited about the case!

Needed a easy bag cause I try to fit as much as I can in a bag when traveling and didn’t need anything fancy besides easy maneuverability. So this is where the bag has failed. I noticed my bag was not gliding as easily as my friend’s and noticed that it’s the wheels. Their wheels were double on each of them, which helped with the disbursement of the luggage weight. This DID NOT function like my friend’s luggage.Carpet rolling is not this luggage’s strong suit. Another tip: the expander works great but will not be considered as a carry-on. You must close it to fit in the overhead compartment.

This is a great carry on. I was able to fit a months worth of clothes and gifts and travelled via the underground, the bus and easy to walk with through terminals as well. Best purchase so far on Amazon!

I was amazed at how much this little carry-on holds! I was able to pack enough outfits and shoes to be stylish on a three-night stay in British Columbia and didn't even have to use the expander function. I was also delighted and relieved that this fit in the overhead bin on a smaller Air Canada jet (my boyfriend's Samsonite carry-on didn't). It's very easily maneuverable on hard surfaces but not as fantastic on carpet. Overall I'm so happy with this bag and look forward to using it on many trips to come.

Before I even had it out the door for my first trip, the cheap zipper was having trouble getting all around the luggage without missing zip tines. The zipper wants to catch on loose tines and skip over some even when the luggage is completely empty. It's complete garbage. The zipper has gotten worse and worse. After 3 trips, one of the zippers has come off. Many tines are broken. I can't use it anymore for fear it will rip open when checked. GIGANTIC RIP OFF for the price point. They clearly used a 10 cent zipper on this piece of garbage.

Got the luggage. I was really disappointed when I opened the box. It's not the pink colour ad on Amazon, it's dark purple! I really need a luggage for my travel, I may have to keep it, but I'm not happy with it.

Returned it. Measured bigger than allowed carry-on size.
