Great choice for 200$
These fit great! The spikes are plenty sharp and have no issue digging into wood. I climb old telephone poles and they are amazing. You have to put them together but that's no problem. The only detail people should know is that the gaffs stick out lower than the foot support so it's difficult to walk in them. Other than that there are No durability issues so buy with confidence

Some assembly but good quality I wouldn’t skimp on your spurs so good buy
They make cheaper spurs out there but your life depends on these. These are good quality and were cheaper than I saw other places. Some assemble but a quality product

Great climbers, but...
To be fair, these are the only climbers I have ever used, so I can't make a comparative evaluation. That said, they certainly get the job done. The spikes are sharp and it takes no effort to jam them deep into the tree trunk. They are easy to put on, and they fit snuggly. And they seem to be made of quality material. The only thing that bothered me is the lack of padding at the top. The inside has a wide strap, but it's stiff leather, so it tends to rub. The outside is just a slender strap with no padding at all, nothing to keep the top and bottom of the buckle from rubbing into your leg. Ok, I didn't get any welts or bruises, but my legs were definitely sore. I took down a 60 foot Scotch Pine that had died. Lots of large limbs. I did three sessions, each one about two to three hours long. The spikes punched into the tree easily, and I always felt like I had a very secure footing. So, if these climbers had a little padding, I would have given them 5 stars plus.

Well built
They are very well built and feel very secure. I gave 3 stars for comfort because like any tree spike they are not the most comfortable but as far as tree spikes go they are as comfortable as they can be I guess. I’ve used these on several different kinds of trees and they performed well on all of them.

Worth the upgrade if you are using some cheaper crap, but do not want to speed a ton... a SUPER improvement over what i was using, POLE Gaffs on Trees... is a recipe for death.... so getting used to the Klein TREE gaffs, and the more i use the the Happier I am that i bought them... if I used them as a full time thing and not a dude with land and trees that need surgical trimming... then I would spend the hundreds more, but for the occasional project and up keep... worth every penny... and who is not a fan of leather, BALL GAG ME... please

Great Quality with Klein tools.
(EDIT: Replacement screws were sent to me)I was recommended this item by a friend. Going to be cutting down about 13 or so Trees on my property. The only reason I give this a 4 star and not a 5 star is due to missing screws that usually come with this product. They are solid and durable, (having used my friends pair when he was recommending these to me, and he has had them for 3 years now?), and they grip the trees with ease. Again I would recommend these to anyone, only reason I don't give it the 5 star is due to missing items, will update rating once I get a hold of customer support.

Missing part
I got this as a first pair of Spurs just to help trim some dead trees on the property and I get them and the sleeves just weren’t in the box I might change this review after I get the said part replaced and actually get to use them but so far I’m pretty disappointed. might add I ordered this over night as I had a job to do in the next day just to find that crucial of a component missing

Very comfortable but the long spikes make it a high wire act
Pros:The straps made this much easier to put on than cheaper versions and the leather pads were surprisingly comfortable.Cons:The long spikes and placement made it like trying to climb a tree using sharpened 4” high heeled shoes. These are replaceable for a cost but a bad choice to have as what comes with them. They are extremely difficult to impossible to use as is even on redwood with deep bark.
