Quality of light, its softness depends on the proximity to the light source and the size. This soft box is quite big which is great for diffuse, soft light but folds very easily and weights nothing. It provides nice quality of light as you would expect from its size. Set-up is extremely easy and takes minutes. Compared to 24x24 this is bigger and thus less portable , but if you need more than just a headshot - you have got to use a bigger soft box.To summarize, if you need a soft box for flash but will be using this primarily indoors or in a studio - this is one of the better options.

Looks like a nice product but doesn't come with M2 Bracket first time I was disappointed with an Amazon purchase, very frustrating when you can not call someone and complaine and have the order fixed without having to return the entire item. I have less confidence now buying a second one off Amazon.

I LOVE how easily this softbox sets up as well as the nice soft light it gives on the subject.

A buddy let me borrow his for a shoot and I was instantly sold. These are some great soft boxes! They're built to last and you'll realize this as soon as you feel the quality of the material they're made of. They are very easy to set up and take down which is a huge factor for us since 95% of our sessions are outdoors. I own the large 30x30 w/ the optional grid and one of the smaller ones. The quality of light is even, soft and very flattering for skin tones. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is because after time the brackets tend to start slip out of the back of the soft box and will fall into the elements. The brackets are not physically connected/held/strapped down to the actual soft box. They just kind of snugly pop in there and are held by pressure. The material where the soft box meets with the bracket seems to have lost enough of its rigidity/tightness over time and now will not stay on unless held my lighting assistance, which isn't possible if using a boom for overhead/higher angle lighting. This is nothing a few straps of velcro didn't fix, but nonetheless my last senior session was rather aggravating since I didn't have any Velcro available. All this being said...don't second guess this purchase! These soft boxes are solid and great for location shooting. I've had mine for 4+ years and it's just now giving me these issues. Just buy some Velcro strips to eliminate what I went through and you're back in business. www.toddbarnettphotography.com
