Whenever I buy something on amazon, I generally take 3 things into consideration; 1. Do I need it 2. How much is it 3. What do reviews say So when I needed to get a duvet/pillow case set for a bed my dog normally perches on, let's just say I didn't want to spend a lot and didn't expect Egyptian cotton! I just wanted something to cover the expensive ish duvet and pillows. I went to the pub last night, had two pints, they cost 12 quid (they weren't pints in wetherspoons). I bought this duvet cover/pillow case set for under 12 quid, think it was £11.17. As you can see, you have to be somewhat realistic in your expectations. I read the top reviews and some of the most recent reviews to get some idea what I was getting for my 11 quid. Most were telling of some garbage texture or fabric (but it advertises itself as a polyester cotton mix so I knew this), other say they washed it and it faded (cue me not washing it), some say it tore (mine hasn't yet). All in all, my expectations were low and having received it, it exceeds my expectations so 5* from me, purely based on expectations and price. You can't buy something for 11 quid and expect some mega high quality. The duvet cover on the master bed is 100quid, believe me when I say that is really nice. If I experienced ill effects from washing that or poor workmanship, I'd be upset. But for something just over a tenner and less than 2 pints, how could I write a shoddy review?

Great value for money at under a tenner for superking. Can never get any superking for that price. It's not that thick but doesn't need to be.

This was cheap, but quite good quality for £10, it was bought for a spare bed , so bought a second one for my own use. Cannot buy that amount of material for £10 so it was worth it

Good fit and looks really nice soft bedding

I got this mostly for it's low cost and quick delivery turn around, as I was in the middle of moving house and needed sheets for the bed asap. After two months use and a couple of washes, the sheets are balling and wearing away a little already, especially the pillow cases. They're absolutely fine and not noticeably bad unless you're sleeping in them. But it's definitely a cheap set. They're very thin, too, but still relatively soft all things considered.

Great price and value for money looks great

I purchased these in bulk to use commercially- upon arrival the products looked well packaged. I was really hopeful that these would live up to their name of "Quality, EasyCare Bed Linen" and add the luxury final touches to the bedrooms. How wrong I was! Upon receiving the items I removed them from their packaging to prepare them for use- I was shocked and horrified by the quality. (See pictures for references) The the fabric itself was of poor quality- see through, inconsistent between items and on many of the pillow cases it was ripped or frayed. The seams on the products were poorly stitched- which was evident by the fact that without use they had already split. The same can be said of the corner stitching-where in the majority of the products the corners weren't corners, but holes! The pillow cases were particularly shoddily made, varying in size wildly, so that some looked barely large enough to fit a small pillow, let alone those for a king sized bed. Overall, these products are of very poor quality, are unfit for use and as such have ALL been returned. The one star given is purely as the presentation of the products in their packaging gave a sufficiently positive impression that I opened the product with the same hope I had had when ordering.

Got this for my son as I'd bought one else where and the seams pulled apart so needed a replacement, saw this one, Cheap price but thought I'll give it a go and I was really chuffed great quality good colour brilliant price and my very fussy son loves it too. Bonus !

The quality feels incredibly cheap. Very thin and synthetic like. Hoping that washing it will improve somewhat, but do not think this will last very long. Also, it is advertised as reversible. "Reversible" does not mean "turn it over"! FYI, this is the first time in 20 years or so that I have felt the need to write about a product from Amazon!
