Lunds Pancake Mix, Swedish, 12 Ounce (2)

I like dem in da morgan wit my lingberry jammen. (I'm Swedish so this is meant as a joke-lighten up!) They are REALLY yummy and the only brand I buy.

I grew up long ago loving my Swedish grandmother's Swedish pancakes. This pancake mix is the only one that recreates that experience, I think it's because it has malted barley flour. That seems to be the ingredient that brings back the memories. Also, the pancakes are great!I totally don't understand the negative review that says it doesn't taste like Swedish pancakes, because that's exactly what this pancake mix does.

Lund's is not available locally in retail food stores, so I was happy to find Amazon was carrying it. We have used this product for years. It is much easier than mixing your own, and tastes better than nearly all recipes that we have found. You control the thickness by the amount of milk that you use. We prefer ours crepe-like, so use a cup of milk for each 2/3 to 3/4 cup of mix. This will make enough for two. Your griddle should be on the low end of 'high" setting on an electric griddle. Turn once when the pancake has small bubbles showing, and suddenly appears "dry". These are great with the traditional lingonberry preserves, or with REAL maple syrup, and butter.

my family loves crepes and I used to make them from scratch which is not a quick process. When I found Lund's I was thrilled, as were my grown kids, but we could not always find it in local stores. I buy it regularly online now and also order it for my kids. I use it not only for breakfasts, but when I make crepe meals with chicken, veggies and sauce, or with mushrooms/asparagus and goat cheese. Crepes just add something special to a side dish, or even a main dish, and this product makes is so much easier to add that special touch.

I grew up on Swedish pancakes and consider myself somewhat of an expert. These are soooo close to perfect (if cooked on a really hot pan) that I will no longer compare them to Grandma’s. Nice and thin, easy to mix, as sweet as you want to make them but the mix itself is not sweet, and loved by grandchildren almost as much as the can of whipped cream we gave them to dress up the pancakes. Good stuff.

We've been making these for years (with blueberries) - my grandchildren's favorite. They are thin like crepes - very different from "regular" pancakes. We don't make anything else.

At the holidays we look forward to a traditional Swedish breakfast. This mix is hard to find now where I live. SO happy to have found online! Love it.

Easy to mix up. A little difficult to cook; requires a hot griddle/pan so the batter that is thin, cooks relatively rapidly...can get too brown. Instructions say that the batter does not bubble like pancakes, and instead browns around the edges when it ready to turn. Not for me; they bubble ... a lot, seldom browns around the edges and when they do the other side is almost burnt. Result- play it by ear with practice. They're worth the effort:)
