I can't wait
As soon I found out that there is a new transcriptions book from Kurt's East Coast Love Affair for sale, I got an instant big smile in my face (even it was a long day at work)."This book offers transcriptions of Kurt's solos from all eight tunes from the album." ([...])Please note that the level is suggested is Advanced. However, I think we should ponder the fact that: "Each solo is analyzed and the information presented to help the player understand what Kurt is doing in each piece. The book is presented in standard notation and tablature" ([...])I had the opportunity to watch him play in Mexico city and talk to him a little bit. I told him that I liked very much his collaborations with Rebecca Martin and Marcy Playground. I asked him about his influences or one artist who he would recommend to listen, and he mentioned Milton Nascimento. So, take the word of a fan that instantly got captivated since the first moment that heard "Minor Blues" and spread the word about this new book, work hard on it and keep looking for more music from him with: Rebecca Martin, Marcy Playground, Q-Tip, Once Blue, Human Feel, Jill Seifers, Mark Turner, and Brian Blade & the Fellowship Band, to name some of them)Thanks and greetings from Mexico.

Great Book!!!
Excellent book. A great resource for any fan of Kurt Rosenwinkel. The book contains all of Kurt's solos from the album including the way he comps to himself as he improvises. There are some minor mistakes, which every transcription book has, however, for the most part everything is correct. There is one big error on Pannonica in which the the solo and changes are misplaced by two beats--however, once you figure it out, it is no problem. Hopefully, MelBay will fix that.

Good Enough: could have been better
Although the book contains mistakes(as do all transcription books) this book is a helpful resource for fans of Kurt's music. If you are an advanced player it would serve you best to transcribe the material yourself. There are silly errors (one big one on Pannonica where the chords are off by two beats from the music; for the most part, the single note transcriptions are accurate. Some of the chord voicings aren't correct. Overall, this is still a good study of Kurt's music and can give you an idea as to how he thinks harmonically over changes while soloing.

A very poor effort
There are far too many errors in this book.Shame on you:Brandon Bernstein (and the University of Southern California that apparently gave him a doctorate)Matthew Warnock, Jon Bremen, Ariel Alexander and Mel Bay Publications. There are many mistakes in the standard notation. And the standard notation doesn't represent the TAB well in any dubious sections.Even where the notation is correct there are very obvious errors in the TAB/ where to play the notes. It is hard to believe anyone who can read music and/or play the guitar proofread this.In a word: SLOPPY

No very good
The notes are ok, but the vocings are wrong! the writting is vary bad; in "Pannonica" the first chord that appears in the 1 of the bar is DbMaj7 and in the 3 of the bar is Cmaj7?¿?¿ the tune stars with Cmaj7 in the 1, and if you put Cmaj7 in the 3 all the following chords are in a wrong beat! appears like First bar: Dbmaj7 / Cmaj7 / second bar: Cmaj7 / Ebm7/ third bar: Ab7 / Dm7 / ....this is very bad, because they don't undertand that the frase that Kurt play in the final of the chorus over Dbmaj7 it's a pickup for the beginning of the chorus.I don't like more things....sometimes when he write the chord Gbmaj7 (for example) in the melody writes F# ??? or in the chord C7 writes in the melody A# for the 7 in the place of Bb....i don't like it...The voicings are very bad transcribed....tehre is a lot of wrong voicings......i don't know why........there is a lot of another little things very bad......i don't like the book!

Several errors especially in chords
I know if I'm writing this I should just transcribe the solos myself but ... hey if you're going to sell me something, at least make sure it's worth it. Missing or wrong notes in a lot of chords and even melodies throughout the book.
