This is the business! If you have a hair or scalp disorder, get it!
This is one of a series of books written for doctors by specialist consultants. If you have a hair or scalp disorder, get it! It will tell you what your GP is likely to conclude, and much more. It's frightening reading in many respects, but it tells you what the latest treatments are, where to look up relevant research - and prepares you with the necessary questions that you have to put to your GP (in your 10 minutes!) so that you get the necessary tests, get directed to a good hospital, etc. etc. I've since looked up others in the "Fast Fact" series, and if you have a relative with a given disease/condition that they cover, it would probably be a good idea to invest in them. NB I have a science degree so am conversant with a good many terms... but anyone, I think, can benefit, if you give it time and keep googling the terms you don't understand.

All you ever wanted to know about hair
Excellent description of hair physiology and pathology , the treatment section needs to be viewed with caution, some of the treatments suggested for example finasteride spironolactone have considerable potential side effects which may be out of proportion in treating a non live-threatening condition such as hair loss.
