How far in is the pin hole? I purchased a different one that is too long for my hitch. thanks!

I purchased a Curt tow hitch cover and mine would not go far enough in the hitch to look good. I remarked where the pin hole should be and drilled a new hole. These covers are plastic therefore it is not hard to drill freehand.

How deep is the insertable part?

From inside edge of cover to closest edge of hole = 2-1/8" , total from inside edge of cover to end of insert edge 3-1/8"

Does this come with the pin. If not do I need to buy one to hold it in place?

No pin comes with it.. You need one.
