can someone explain sizes of these to fit for each: flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking soda & smaller type flours (i.e. AI flours that come smaller)

For 2 lb bag brown sugar (7.5 cups) - it should fit in the 7.8 cup brown sugar container. For 5 lb bag sugar (11.25 cups) - it should fit in the 12 cup container. For 5 lb bag flour (17.45 cups) - put it in the 19.9 cup cereal container. (It all won’t fit in the labeled 16 cup flour container).

Can you give dimension in pound/oune terms? Like will it hold a 10 lb bag of flour or a 5 lb bag of sugar?

Hi. I can tell you with absolute certainty that this 19.9 cup container will only hold a 5 lb. bag of flour with some room to spare, but definitely NOT 10 lbs. I went out and bought two 5lb. bags to check. It was making me crazy! When I first checked the standard weights & measures chart it says 10 lb. = 20 cups. So this size is 19.9 cups and by that logically should hold "almost" a 10 lb. bag of flour. Then I realized that Cooking / Dry measures are different than the standard. By those measures a 10 lb. Bag of Flour = 36.11 cups of flour. I didn't want to steer anyone wrong. If you want one that holds exactly 5lb. of flour get the Rubbermaid Brilliance 16 cup AISN B0752ZJ5LF, or get 2 of them to hold 10 lbs. I hope that helps!

WOW!!! Best container EVER!!

I love this container!! I use a lot of brown sugar in my tea and am constantly having to buy more or hack off pieces because it goes solid so quickly! Since buying this container, that problem has vanished!! I have had it for a few weeks now and my brown sugar is just as soft as the day I bought it! It is perfectly airtight and easy to use, the snaps on the side are not that hard to get off, which is nice because I have arthritis in my hands. And my brown sugar is perfect, which is really all I wanted when I bought this container. It also looks really nice which definitely doesn't hurt. Very happy with my purchase and will probably buy a few more for flour and white sugar.
