Absolutely very versatile great for cars home work shops any thing within reason

Can you tell me if this model is any good for pet hair?

James doesn't come with Hairo Brush which would be better for pet hair. You could purchase this separately to use with James or you could purchase Henry Pet, which comes with Hairo Brush as standard.

does james have a power indicator light like henry? or does it have a blanking plate?

It does have a power indicator light.
