Still works like new after even after 2 years
I've had this little shark vacuum cleaner for almost 2 years and I fall in love again and again, every time I use it. This little vacuum cleaner not only is lightweight but super powerful and gets everything. AND I MEAN EVERYTHING!! I live in a smaller apartment but I have 2 dogs a cat and 4 ferrets, all of them love to shed everywhere, but this vacuum cleaner gets all of it. There's been a couple times that it would get clogged, but that was mainly user error and once I cleaned it out and did a little bit of maintenance, it worked wonderfully again. The cord length is perfect for each room with extra to spare and considering how much I paid for this vacuum, I'm definitely getting my money's worth plus some. This vacuum has 2 filters which I didn't realize when I first started using it. And so when I finally realized that it had 2 filters, they were definitely very dirty when I cleaned them out for the first time. But after cleaning them out, it works like new. If you're looking for a budget-friendly vacuum cleaner, that is powerful and easy to use this is the one for you.

Best Vacuum Ever
By far the best vacuum I've ever used or owned. I've been using it for almost 5 months now. I'm a housekeeper, so I use a lot of other peoples' vacuums, as well as taking this vacuum to the houses without vacuums. At this point, I just bring this vacuum to all my houses, anymore, so that I don't have to use other people's inferior vacuums. I found this vacuum after using it at a client's house and fell in love with it, so bought my own to use. I'm convinced that whoever designed this vacuum must've also worked as a housekeeper while putting themselves through engineering school, and promised themselves that when they became an engineer, they would design an actually good vacuum that worked well. This vacuum has such convenient and easy to use features. I can switch from using the main floor carpet brush feature to using the small brush corner attachment feature without having to turn off the vacuum or taking my hand off the handle, just a quick press of the lever with my foot at the bottom to detach the wand from the floor carpet brush part to the corner brush feature in seconds, and then go back to the floor carpet brush part while the vacuum is still running. AMAZING. Same if I want to shorten the wand from the long neck to the short neck for use on upholstery, I don't even have to turn the thing off to switch wand lengths, it's so fast and easy. Great suction, lightweight, no bags, emptying the cannister is equally quick and simple and clean. And the head of the main floor/carpet brush attachment has such incredible range of motion going sideways left and right on a swivel, as well as laying down flat to vacuum under things. And the size is small enough in width to go between furniture gaps easily too. And it's low enough in height to vacuum under things without a lot of clearance. Whoever designed this thing was thinking of all the things. You can't go wrong with this vacuum. (And I'm not the sort of person who gets excited about appliances or vacuumes of all things. I never thought I would fall in love with a vacuum of all things, but now it's one of my most prized posessions, because it makes my job SOOO much easier and more pleasant.) This is the only review I've ever written for an item I've purchased on Amazon. I don't write reviews, but I'm so appreciative of this vacuum!

Lightweight, strong suction, and actually enjoyable to use
I typically do not write reviews as soon as I receive a product. I like to use things for a while first to see if they actually perform as intended and seem built well enough for the long haul. I’ve owned these for about a year and a half now, so I’ve had enough time to get a good feel for how they hold up over time. I’ve got to say, these little Sharks check all the boxes. I say “these” because I ended up buying a second one after seeing how well the first performed. I live in a log cabin with wood walls, wood floors, and wood ceilings, so there are not many places for dust and dirt to hide. Every time I use one of these vacuums, I’m amazed at the amount of dirt and fine dust it pulls into the dust cup. These things are suction monsters. The vacuum is lightweight, so using it never feels like a chore. The attachments are actually useful instead of just becoming closet clutter. The vacuum head is large enough to clean open areas quickly but still compact enough to get around and under tables and chairs easily. The cord is also long enough that I can usually clean most rooms without constantly changing outlets. If you can say you actually enjoy using a vacuum cleaner, this would be the one. To be honest, there is really nothing about this vacuum that I do not like. Pros: Strong suction Lightweight and easy to use Useful attachments Good reach and maneuverability Long enough cord for most rooms Cons: None so far Bottom line: This vacuum has performed extremely well for me, and I have been satisfied enough to purchase a second one. I would repurchase and would recommend.

Great but could use some improvements
So first off this is a nice vacuum. It has great suction and so far I have not had it get clogged. The collection barrel is easy to remove and clip back in place. Emptying the barrel is a bit of a trick but once you get the hang of it, it's easy to do. I love how lightweight this vacuum is. I love that it has a light. I love that it handles like a battery-powered stick vacuum but with the power of a corded vacuum. Another thing I love is that you can easily remove the main attachment when vacuuming to have a long open-ended stick for vacuuming up areas that are difficult for the regular attachment to reach. This is so seamless and easy it is one of my favorite features about this vacuum. Here is where I wish they would improve it. I understand it will never be able to stand on its own due to be top-heavy but including a holder to install on the wall would have been nice since most stick vacuums have one. If this holder could hold the attachment pieces that would be great also. Next, the cord tends to tangle due to the texture of the cord. Not a big deal but it could be simply remedied by making the cord smooth. Finally, when using the larger vacuum attachment ( the regular piece) it tends to pop into the upright position way too easily requiring you to push it back down into vacuum mode with your foot. I vacuumed my house (1200sq) and I had to push the piece down probably 7 times because it would pop back up into upright mode if you got too close to vacuuming upright. There should be locking spots for this on the attachment to prevent this. These are all trivial things that would make this vacuum AMAZING. Don't get me wrong this is a very nice vacuum but Shark could make it even better with just a few minor adjustments for the consumer practicality.

Shark HV322 Rocket Deluxe Pro Corded Stick Vacuum - My review after 2 years of use
I purchased this exact model from here a little over 2 years ago. I'll contribute a long-term review since it apparently is still being produced and sold and as a review reader myself I always appreciate when someone drops back in to give insight to a product's longevity and performance. Which I'm happy to report the vacuum in still running strong and used almost daily, albeit a little worse for wear but that's because I use it pretty hard and unforgivingly. My use environment - a 1100 sq ft condo with 100% ceramic tile flooring and 2 8ft x 10ft rugs. I also have 2 cats that shed. Keep in mind that YMMV based on your own living space. For my space size/type I feel this vacuum's mix of suction power, dust cup size, power cord length, a lower speed beater-bar setting for hard floors and higher setting for rugs - all together in a stick style vacuum was a perfect match. Now if your space is much larger with wall to wall carpeting then this would not be a good choice. Stick vacuums are just not made for that kind of job and a traditional upright is probably best. If your space falls somewhere in then middle with size and/or has a mix of flooring types then... good luck with that. Maybe get both types of vacuums? Or a traditional upright that isn't super heavy has some good hard wood floor features. Or take a hybrid approach and go with an old school canister style. You get the idea, moving on... Using the vacuum - I've got to say this has been one of the best vacuums I've ever purchased. There are a few quirks I won't waste time listing and it could use more attachments but the low $150-ish price more than makes up for those minor complaints. My remember my first impressions were that it "felt" cheap and "plasticy" and thought it wouldn't last log given my taxing usage. Turns out it's done a remarkable job with heavy and demanding use and abuse. In fact if it were to give up on life tomorrow I would seriously consider just buying another to replace itself. A few more things I like that I would like to point out - I've purchased many vacuums over the years and these are the things that stand out to me about this vacuum: -> It's not cordless. I made that mistake once and learned that battery powered vacuums suck (pun intended). You can never quite finish before it runs out of juice and of course you can't use it while it's charging. The battery capacity declines over time and so does the power. You're lucky to get a year out of it. -> The cord is nice and long, I only have to change outlets once to do my entire home. -> It's motor and resulting suction power is impressive for a "stick" vacuum. Another WIN for the power cord, no cordless is going to meet that kind of power output and do it consistently for over 2 years so far. And as far as corded stick vacuums go, this one places on the more powerful side of what you typically find, almost rivalling it's full-sized traditional versions. -> 2 beater bar speeds easily changed with your thumb without stopping, this makes transitioning from hard to rug to hard again really easy. -> The dust cup is large compared to other brands/models of the same size and power class. If you battle pet hair like I do then you will appreciate the larger dust cup. I don't understand why dust cups aren't larger across the board. But I digress. -> The dust cup is easy top remove, dump and reattach with little effort or tools needed. -> The filters are very durable, I'm still on my originals and wash those frequently and wring them out but they are still in usable condition. I will need new ones eventually but not quite yet. -> It's got a nice length, so if you're tall it feels comfortable to use and it also makes getting under things easier. Some of the cheaper sticks on the market are little more than a dust buster fixed to a short pole with a handle. They feels like your using a child's toy vacuum. Alright a few minor criticisms I'll mention in case they aren't minor to you: -> There really should be a hose attachment that you can pop on to the spot that the tube detaches from on the hand unit. Same end piece as the tube but is on a hose instead. Although this complaint could be for many other models too-) -> It's a bit on the loud side, as loud as a full sized traditional vacuum, but I'd rather have loud and powerful vs less loud and less power. -> That long power cord I mentioned I liked becomes one that is a lot to circle back up on the storage hooks on the unit. Sometimes I get lazy and just kind of wad it on or behind it in the closet. A power cord retractor like on the full sized machine would be an amazing upgrade, but I don't think this feature exists on any stick vacuum for space reasons, I assume. Fine, now that I'm thinking about this stuff there are 2 significant things that I really do not like - -> There is no stand for it, you lean it up and hope it doesn't slide and fall to the floor where, invariably, the dust cup pops off makes a huge mess. Beware of leaning it up against kitchen counters. It feels like it should stay put but it won't. Seriously it will fall down. You'll see. -> 2 There is no place to attach and store the brush/upholstery attachment anywhere on the vacuum. To make it worse, there are several obvious places that would work quite well for this too. Why did I just write all that? Seriously, I need to get a life. TL:DR - is good, buy

Pretty nifty machine
So far I have used this vacuum twice and It's a pretty strong stick vacuum. It works really well on carpet and hard floors. I like that it is so versatile. You can use the tools with the stick extension or attach the tools directly to the vacuum for closer jobs. It definitely has a great suction which I love about Shark vacuums. Shark has been one of my favorite brands of vacuum tools. I have used the navigator, i have a cordless hand vacuum that I use to clean my truck that works great and I had a Shark robot vacuum at one point as well. Shark vacuums have just been great machines all around. I will say the reviews about not being able to stand the vacuum up is only somewhat accurate. If the dust bin and motor are attached as you normally would to vacuum your floors then the weight of it will cause it to fall over. The roller brush part isn't wide enough or heavy enough to hold it up. However, there is a little hook down by the roller on the front of the extension tube that is meant to hold the motor and dust cup. If you remove the motor and place it on the storage hook it will stand up perfectly and become a little more compact. It distributes the weight and BOOM it stands without issues. Love the light on it too. It lit up dust and dirt I couldn't normally see. I can use it under my bed which I like because my pups like to lay under it with the toy graveyard. It's a nice machine for a 856 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment. I mostly have hard floors but it works great everywhere. Pretty decent price too for $125. The upholstery tool and brush tool are combined. To use the brush they must be together but to use the upholstery tool you push the release button and the brush will pop off to reveal the upholstery tool. Pretty nifty stuff. As other reviewers mentioned there isn't a place to store the tools but to me that is a minor inconvenience.

I am in love!!!!
Wow! What an amazing vacuum! I ordered it last night and it arrived early this morning. I unpacked it and started using it within 10 minutes. Very lightweight and does it ever clean! After vacuuming my house two days ago, it picked up a ton of dust and dirt. And I have no pets!!! Highly recommend. The photo shows what it picked up from my living room, hallway, and kitchen floors that I thought were clean! Easily stores in my closet. Just unhook the top part and hook it into the bottom. Only 8.7 pounds. I have a bad back so this is just what I need.

It is just okay but, it is a Shark
I had an "original?" Shark for years and I adored it. It was effective, quieter than most vacuums and did all the vacuuming tasks I required. Then, it died. Little did I know that finding a suitable replacement for "The Shark" would prove to be more difficult than adopting a blond-haired, blue-eyed baby. I purchased and returned 8 vacuums. I was beginning to feel like Goldilocks. I wanted another Shark but all the high-end Sharks have a problem with getting the wand out of the vacuum. Apparently, it is a "known defect". I am not going to pay $250+ and not be able to use the wand. Back went the Sharks to Costco or Amazon. Then came the Bissell candidates. They were acceptable but, they smelled. My husband and I could never really identify the odor but decided they were a potpourri of petrochemicals. Back went the Bissells. I am certain American Express was wondering what was going in our household; 8 vacuum purchases in one month. Then, I came upon the Shark Rocket that some company who does such things rated as Shark's best vacuum. We ordered one and it sat in the entryway until I could muster the courage to open it and try it. Here are the "Pros". It is really lightweight and does an absolutely incredible job on those horrible Pergo floors that seem to populate every house, condo and apartment in the world. It also gobbles up dust bunnies with enthusiasm. Plus, the vacuum head is low enough to the ground that the vacuum can actually get under cabinets, furniture etc. And, now the "cons". The vacuum will not stand up by itself. You have to lean it against something if you want to turn it off. But then again there are a lot of people who do not stand up for or by themselves either so maybe that is a push either way. Number 2 on my list would be the difficulty opening the dirt holder but, really if I had a choice between a difficult to remove dirt holder and absolutely not being able to remove the wand in a higher end Shark, I would go with the dirt remover. And, lastly, there is no place on the vacuum to hang the accessory tools but, wait, you can purchase an add-on gadget for that very purpose. And now you want to put your vacuum away, so you have to find somewhere to lean it against. This is a good basic vacuum cleaner for now. I am holding out hope Shark will read all the reviews about the wand not releasing on the higher end Sharks and fix the "known problem". But again, for now, I will stick with this little guy.

not working
I had really high expectations on this vacuum based on the reviews. Unfortunately, the engine was making a weird noise and smelling burnt. I will return it.

I never thought a vacuum would change my life.
I just finished vacuuming my house for the first time with this baby. It has a special setting for area rugs and hard floors.... the bar still rotates but at a slower rate so debris doesn't get tossed everywhere.... amazing! the vacuum can maneuver itself everywhere in my home and it was so easy to do my stairs and get under my bed, something I was unable to do with my previous upright. The suction is out of this world. I never thought I would have my life changed by a vacuum. There are concerns on here about the small cannister but I enjoyed emptying it and analyzing the copioys amounts of dust that my previous vacuum left behind. It comes with so many tools as well that were not mentioned in the ad.
