Rubicon Express RE1660 Track Bar for Jeep XJ/ZJ

Bought this in combination with the RE1665 track back bracket for my 1990 XJ cherokee. I have installed many suspension components on jeeps in the past and rubicon express is always top notch quality. This was priced very competitively as well, I work at a 4x4 / accessory shop and even our distributor would not match this price. For some reason the hardware package had 3 different size grease fittings, but the size required was also in the bag so not a problem just a little odd. I figure I will mention that when they say minimum of 4.5" of lift they mean it. My jeep has 3.5" of lift and I wasn't quite able to adjust the track bar short enough, but the jeep still drives fine and I'm probably the only person who notices the 1/2" or so that the axle is off by.

Good quality track bar, great fit on my '91 XJ. You will also have to purchase RE1665 bracket and there's an optional RE1670 bracket-brace / framework tie in piece, which is worth the price. I installed 4" extended bump stops to keep the brace off of my differential housing, if you run the setup without the part# 1670, you can run 3"extended bumpstops to keep the trackbar off of your differential cover. Very satisfied, recommended seller as well.

Love RE, second jeep I'm building using their springs and track bar. But I will not recommend buying this from Amazon. Similar to previous customers, this did not initially come with the hardware. Mine ALSO did not come with the axle end bushing and sleeve or flex joint. Literally just the bar. I'm a bit frustrated. But I am on the phone now with customer service who is sending me a full replacement so, 5 stars to customer service, but recommending that you buy this from a 4x4 parts dealer. EDIT: Replacement came quick! Thank you to Amazon customer service. And it came in a brand new box unlike the one they first sent me, which was taped a bunch to hold it together. I wonder if someone had returned it after breaking parts or wearing out bushings, I don't know. But this one even had the RE sticker so a couple extra horsepower for the jeep. Definitely recommend this track bar, this is the BEST price there is on it, but buyer beware, I'm not the only one in these reviews who had issues.

None of the hardware in the first photo arrived with my tack bar. I had to buy all the bolts nuts and zerk fitting to put it on.

Nothing wrong with the rubicon express track bar re1660. I bought this to replace one on my xj with a worn joint at the body side. Comparing prices of replacing the end and the whole track bar, I opted just to replace the whole thing. The reason I am giving 3 stars is due to the seller and how they packaged the part. I have attached photos of how my truck bar arrived and was surprised when no hardware was missing due to the fact the box was hardly taped closed. There also was no shipping material to protect the product during shipping. Now, I know it's a track bar and going on a jeep so scratches/dings don't matter that much BUT to me it just shows how much the shipper cares. Once again, my rating DOES NOT reflect the rubicon express product.

Worked great on my 2000 XJ with a 4" lift. Don't forget to buy the replacement bracket as well!

What the seller and, then, the manufacturer will not tell you, here, is that you MUST ALSO buy the HD Track Bar Bracket (RD1665), if you were buying this track bar for the very first time — and NOT replacing an existing RD1660. (Hopefully, the item description will be updated, soon.) It’s about as frustrating as life gets, when there is nothing from the manufacturer, nor from the seller, but — You are informed of this, once you receive the track bar and, then, read the RD1665 requirements within the installation instructions. SMH. :/ And to make matters worse, NO ONE apologizes, here. WunderParts blames Rubicon Express and, then, Rubicon Express blames YOU for not contacting THEM first, when YOU went through THEIR authorized reseller. The product is good, but the Customer Service absolutely sucks. Good luck! Or, go elsewhere.

Buy this. When you get it, take out your factory track bar and hold it in one hand. Hold this baby in the other. Compare and contrast the differences between the two. Guarantee you'll wonder how you ever trusted your safety at high speed to the factory model. This thing is packing so much more beef it's laughable. I wasn't 100% wild about needing to drill out the hole in my axle mounting bracket to accomodate the larger bolt that comes with the bar, but that's only because I'm inherently lazy and didn't want to get my drill out. Or technically have a large enough metal bit. But, at the end of the day, am I really going to complain too much about having a stronger bolt in there? Not really. It works great. I couldn't be happier. And, as I said in the title, it killed my death wobble dead. What more could you want?
