Update - The seller reached out immediately and fully refunded the purchase price. While I had issues with this product, I can validate that this seller is honorable and completely stands behind their products. I believe is this so much I will be buying a cable from them soon. I fully recommend their products and would not hesitate to order this or another item from them. Defects happen and I think I was just the unlucky one. Excellent seller though!!! ------- I originally was very satisfied with this purchase. It was a good price for the adapter, fast shipping, and seemed like quality out of the box. I have a two-monitor setup but only one VGA port on my laptop docking station, so this was perfect to plug my second monitor into the displayport on the docking station. Worked great for a week and then died a quick death. I logged onto my computer this morning and the one monitor that used the adapter wasn't working. Both monitors work fine plugged into the vga port, and another item I have works fine plugged into the displayport, so the only conclusion is that the adapter stopped working. End result is a one-star rating because I expect the adapter to work years, not days. I have contacted the seller and will update the ratings based on my experience with them and hopefully a replacement adapter.

Works well and quality seems great. I have used another Benfai adapter before, similar product but different connector. It was great as well. Benfai seems like a solid company for these types of products. Not a big electronics guy, so I am not sure if Benfai is a well known brand or not, but I am a fan and will search for Benfai if I ever need more adapters in the future. Actually, as I am writing this, I am going to see what else they make.

I was a little leery of buying this device, as I had never heard of Benfei before. But when I put my last computer together just after Thanksgiving, 2019, the new video card did not have a VGA output. I needed the VGA output due to the KVM (ConnectPRO UR-12+PLUS) I use to allow me to use one keyboard, monitor, and mouse with two different computers. This device has proven itself to be robust and solid almost a year later, and I could not be happier! ** Update Nov 6, 2021 ** Ordered a second adapter for another computer. The first DisplayPort previously ordered is still working as expected. Bottom line, I could not be happier with both adapters! I have two computers connected through a KVM to one old(er) monitor, keyboard, and mouse. The new laptop does not have a VGA output, but does have USB-C (lightening), HDMI and DisplayPort video outputs (the latter two via a docking station). I tried the Benfei USB-C to VGA and Benfei HDMI to VGA adapters, but those adapters did not work for me. The USB-C adapter was not recognized by my new laptop (I did not have time to diagnose it), and the HDMI adapter sent a dull and unsharp picture to the monitor; this DisplayPort adapter sent a bright and sharp picture to the monitor! I sent the other two adapters back, as I found an acceptable solution.

Since we don't a fair amount of traveling, this device allows me to connect a 2nd monitor to the "c" port on my laptop.

Does the job

I'm very pleased with this adapter. Unlike others I've used, it does not have a locking clip on the DP end. That's a big plus since the clip on other cables tends to be a major pain to deal with when removing the cable (or, in some cases, when inserting the cable). This pushes in easily and has a more than tight enough fit so that a locking clip is not needed. The build quality overall feels solid, and the short extension from the DP end to the VGA end is sturdy but still bends so that it doesn't stick out straight from the PC. I'm using this with a Dell Optiplex PC and an old Dell VGA monitor (set up as a second monitor) with zero issues.

I did have to return the items, they were not what I needed. I was guessing in the correct port I needed and I was wrong. However, part of my guesswork was that the item description did not indicate what port the adapter fit in and I was going on picture alone. Please update your item description so others know what they are purchasing. I would buy from you again as long as I am sure it’s what I need. Your prices were very reasonable.

Bought this to use with my new PC. For some reason, my graphics card only has 1 HDMI port...and 3 display ports. It really doesn't make any sense to me, but whatever, we must move on in these trying times, we have bigger problems to worry about such as this corona virus malarkey, so I purchase one "DisplayPort to VGA, Benfei DisplayPort to VGA Adapter Male to Female Gold-Plated Cord Compatible for Lenovo Dell HP and other Brand," connected it with ease and works brilliantly. I couldn't be without my second monitor, I'd honestly rather eat salad (because, I really hate salad it makes me wanna gip).

The device works flawlessly after connection. Very good quality materials at a low price. I do recommend it
