Clean, Modern Touch to Our Basement Dart Setup — Perfect Addition to the Cabinet Build!
I installed this Viper laser throw/toe line marker as part of the dartboard cabinet I built in our basement, and it absolutely completes the setup! I wanted something more polished than tape or floor decals, and this laser line looks super sleek and professional — just like what you’d see in a pub or dart league setup. Mounting it was really straightforward. I attached it right under the cabinet, tightened the screws, and it hasn’t moved even after a few bumps. The beam is bright and sharp, totally visible even with the basement lights on. I also love that it runs on batteries, so there are no cords hanging around — keeps everything looking clean. It works great with both steel and soft tip darts, and the accuracy of the line is spot-on. No more arguing over where the throw line should be! If you’re building a dartboard cabinet or just want to upgrade your dart area, this laser line marker is a must-have. It adds a cool, high-end look and works perfectly every time.

Good solution for toe line on carpet
The only room in my home suitable for a steel tip dart board installation was the bonus room. This room has carpet on the floor, which is great to hide any marks left by darts that fall to the floor, but make installing a toe line more difficult. The Viper by GLD Products 37-0108 Laser Throw/Toe Line Marker looked like the best solution that I could find so I picked one up on Amazon. It has worked great. I didn't buy the power adapter and opted just to use batteries, but one is available for purchase. It is mounted close to the floor (bottom of the board in the photo provided) to ensure no one, especially my kids, would have an opportunity to look into the emitted laser. It was very easy to install with just two philips screws (included) that mounted directly to the back-board for my application. I ran a tape measure from the wall to the throw line distance of 7' 9.25" and then lined up the laser to that position on the floor. The battery compartments are on the front of the device, so the batteries can be replaced without moving the device. The only downside is that it doesn't have an auto-off feature, so if accidentally left powered on it would drain the batteries.

Tricky, but useful.
The girl didn’t like the idea of an oche line in the middle of her floor, so I took a gamble on this. Very tricky to get both the pitch and distance dialed in, then have tightened down without the line moving. It will try your patience! Once you get it set though, it works really well. Very bright. Mounted mine a little lower (3 1/2’) than what’s pictured and it gave me about a 2 1/2’ long line. Laser is strong enough I imagine to be mounted anywhere and be good. Though the base and laser head seem solid, I worry anything more than a mild bump will knock the line out of place. All in all, great value for the money that solves a problem.

Great item, especially for price, if you are a serious darter read the full review.
Update to original review: I just now replaced the batteries after 5 months of using it basically every other day. Battery life far exceeded my expectations and it was still working, the line was just getting a bit dim. The batteries still had about 1.06 volts apiece left in them, but it's definitely brighter now that I replaced them. I haven't had any problems with this item, highly recommended. If you know how to measure from left and right side of the board and then use the hypotenuse from the bulls eye to verify your line, you can simply put tape on the floor temporarily to aim this laser (you likely already have tape on the floor). I didn't find this hard to aim, just tighten (or loosen in my case) the screws so that you can still move the laser, then tighten slightly. I mounted this about 6" below my dartboard, attached to my backboard. I was worried that vibrations from the board would throw the laser off but I've used it for 2 weeks now (I practice a lot) and it hasn't moved at all. I just verified all measurements are still correct after probably 2000 darts thrown to the board. I can't speak to durability from a direct hit from a dart to the laser. I don't plan on ever doing that but I'm sure it will happen sometime. Batteries have held up just fine thus far, I thought about buying the AC adapter but if these batteries last me a couple of months I'm fine with that in order to not have a cord cluttering the area up. This is better than the Winmau laser which sticks out from the wall quite a bit more, I have experience with that one as well.

10 years later...
I can't believe I have now owned this accessory for 10 years.... It does its job perfectly and has held up well. My board and this marker has seen only casual use throughout the times and for the price to performance ratio, I am extremely impressed. 10 years and going strong! (I think I have changed the batteries only a handful of times)

Have zero complaints!
I've got zero complaints about this toe line laser. Bought it three years ago and it's been a tough little guy under the shop dart board ever since. In the picture you can see the laser on the wall just below the board. By the peppering all over the wall & board you know 2 facts; 1) This thing has taken multiple and impressive hits. 2) Drinking and playing "trick shot HORSE darts" is not recommended for those that treasure their walls. That all said, it continues to work just fine despite getting hit more times than Tina after Ike came home off a weekend of binge drinking and 8-balls. Not only does it work fine, but the thing stays exactly where you set it. Unless, of course you hit it. And just like Tina, it will move if you hit it so....don't do that. Fantastic product. If/when it ever dies I will absolutely purchase again.

Works with Some Frustration
This works and so I considered giving 4 stars but the setup was a bit frustrating and ridiculous. It mounted easily enough and it was lightweight enough to mount to my hollow wooden door without anchors. Due to the rotating nature of the laser you also didn't need it to be perfectly level to get the laser to be straight which is nice. My issue comes with setting up the laser to the precise line. The first time I set up the laser I had taken a few minutes to line it up and then I screwed down the screws to keep the laser positioned correctly. Seemed easy enough until I realized that screwing it down moved the laser up by a foot. If you line it up first then screwing it down will move the line. You can try to pinch the laser while you tighten the screw it will still move just a bit. If you tighten beforehand and try to adjust after, making the micro-adjustments necessary for precise alignment is a pain. Keep in mind that I did this by myself which makes it more difficult but my advice to people doing it on their own is measure out and then put an large book right behind the line. Then tighten down enough where the laser won't shake out of place but loose enough that you can make subtle changes to line up the laser precisely. The book will be a better reference point then just a tape measure on the ground but the hard part is finding the tension balance you need to line it up smoothly. It isn't impossible of course, just more of a pain than it should be. I would really like to see a type of scroll wheel you could use to make micro-adjustments after tightening the tension screws. So far it works well and although I have read some reviews saying that it is difficult to see in sunlight, I have found that it is manageable in all but the most sunny outdoor situations. I did put a fresh pair of eneloop batteries in so it's possible that even batteries with less charge would result in a duller less vibrant laser. Also regarding the batteries I have only used it for a few hours but will update the review once I have a better judgment on battery life. The laser is cool once it is setup but I think it is mostly unnecessary. It works well enough but I caution people when picking up bounce outs not to get a laser in the eye. Considering it seems of decent quality, isn't too expensive, and works I can recommend it if you really want a laser oche instead of using a adhesive tape line. Pictures description: The half carpet half hardwood picture shows the laser in good indoor CLT lighting. The marble picture is a close beam in good indoor fluorescent lighting on a light surface. The all hardwood picture shows the beam in a direct afternoon sunlight.

Works well. Stays accurate!
Work’s perfectly! I have mine projected onto carpeting and the line is more that crisp enough to mark the 7’9.25” mark! Set it and forget it using the ball socket tensioner screws. If I had to complain about one thing? Some might not like that it is battery operated rather than an adapter wall plug? Offer both in the package maybe? I myself like the battery option, one less cord hanging down the wall!

Klasse Laser-Oche
Ein klasse Teil, funktioniert super und auch im hellen Raum gut zu erkennen. Das einzige was etwas Geduld fordert, ist die genaue Einstellung, aber auch das war für mich kein Problem.
