Louis Raphael Men's Luxe 100% Wool Pleated Dress Pant with Hidden Extension Waist Band

These pants are not made for mature individuals. If you like the "modern" fit where your butt sticks out the top, then buy these. However, if you are a business person, who like to look professional, then look elsewhere. I had previously purchased from Louis Raphael dress pants from this site and those fit great. There is a 4 inch difference in the rear rise of these pants.Louis Raphael, do you think the younger generation is your best customer? Do you think that all young men want to expose their rear end? If so, then continue with this marketing scheme.Myself, I believe there are more professionals out there that want to look professional. If you can't meet their needs, then they will have to look for another vendor.

These were my favorite work pants, and I’ve bought many, many pairs over the past few years. I even wrote a positive review on Amazon for them. I haven’t bought any over the past year, though, as I had enough on-hand for work. However, recently one of them suffered some damage and I needed a replacement pair, so I ordered one.Now that they’ve arrived, I have to say that I’m very disappointed in these pants. While they still look nice and the quality appears unchanged, they have two problems. First, they are much tighter in the waist now. These have an expandable waistband, a feature that I love, but with this pair, I’m at the upper end of where these pants fit me. The older ones fit fine, this pair does not. No, my old ones are not “stretched out”, and I haven’t gained any weight, in fact I’m about 10 pounds thinner than the last time I’ve bought these.Second, I’m long-waisted. Another thing I loved about these pants is that they were comfortably cut in the midsection and would sit fairly high up. These are now tight in the crotch and ride very low … several inches lower than my older pairs, in fact. Even when I hike them up as high as I can, they still ride an inch or two too low and I am also giving myself a wedgie to even get them that high. This may not be a problem for all men, but it's a big problem for me. This seems to be a current trend, wearing pants lower, but it doesn’t suit my body type.These pants might work for you, particularly if you like your pants to ride low, but they no longer work for me. These are fairly expensive pants, so if they’re now cutting them lower and tighter in an attempt to save on a little fabric, then shame on them. But goodbye Louis Raphael LUX pants, it’s over; we don't fit together anymore. Two stars.

ABSOLUTELY agree with all critical reviews on these! The "original" line of Louis Raphael Luxe were a nice, heavy weight, premium "luxe" material and fit like wearing pajama pants! I'd get home after 12+ hours at the office and found myself forgetting I had them on and lounging in them..that's what I call comfort!I've been wearing them for years and still have 5 or 6 original pairs that are almost literally falling apart-had several sewn, stitched and patched just to keep them alive. These originals are a dead breed!I placed a large order through amazon for these, needing a major wardrobe update, without knowing they changed everything about them. I received the order, tried on one after the other and was shocked how horribly they fit. I mean, I was uncomfortable after five minutes of trying them on! The rise has been cut tremendously, they ride low, are slim cut EVERYWHERE. They fit like slim fit European cut skinny jeans..or whatever they call it. Absolutely terrible. I can't even imagine what their new Luxe "slim fit" line fits like! Needless to say, I sent the entire order flying back!To sum it up, these are not anything like the "original" Luxe line of LR pants (if you know those well). The originals are long gone and dead; you can still find a few out there if you do a lot of patient searching. Hint: look at the pattern on the interior of top of waistband area. The originals had a slanted multicolored and varying pattern of thick and thin lines all across.If you fell in love with Louis Raphael's line of Luxe pants of years past like I did, look elsewhere. These are not those pants!**my rating of two stars is VERY generous (more like 1.5 rounded up!)

These fit great but I bought a second pair 6 months later and they felt cheap as soon as I opened the package. I compared them to the original purchase and there was a noticeable weight difference in the pants. The first pair which was my expectation was made in Vietnam. The second pair was made in China. I feel that the Chinese pair is of lesser quality.

My husband has worn this style & brand of slacks for years and Macy's has discontinued selling them. We were thrilled to see they were on Amazon & ordered immediately. It isn't that the 7 I just ordered him were too small or too large - the fit in the seat just wasn't right. We measured, comparing them to several pair he already owns. The manufacturer has cut the long rise down by several inches. I'm disappointed because now I have to send them all back.

The pants are quiet thin and the color is very, very light (much like the lightest gray font color from the standard palette in Word). The rise (crotch region) is smaller than normal, which is a big bummer - you will need to wear the pants lower to get some breathing room. Also, the hidden extension is a great idea, but the waist does run too small - my recommendation is to get the next bigger size (e.g., if you're a 42, buy a 44). The length does fall nicely, but the pants are so thin that it felt like the cuff folded. For $60 and 100% wool, I expected much better than this.

I ordered these to replace some that had ripped horizontally across the seat for no apparent reason. The "cut" was entirely different....so much so that I had to send them back. I have three other pair in the same exact size and brand that I ordered 6 months ago that fit perfectly.

Having owned one of these earlier -this one had flimsy wool material.Despite the double lining the fall was not right.

the description leads one to assume that trousers are warmer than they are. these are summer pants, I was expecting something thicker and better suited for winter.

Good quality pants. Some what tight in the legs and the distance between the crouch and the waist line is kind of short.

thicker pants 100 % wool ware day to day; like the army soldiers had for the winter, still looking not dress pants, I will keep it for dress pants only; not for working in the cold Canadian days. Appreciate if able to find send me a link.
