Right idea but incomplete
For $25, this is not a bad deal if you're trying to teach your little one how to play street hockey. The sticks are the perfect length/weight for toddlers through kindergarteners, and the ball is a good quality, hi-viz pink street ball.But...the net is incomplete and needed some extra work to be truly functional. The problem is that the lower three bars weigh a whole lot less than the posts and the top cross bar, and the area inside the goal is much smaller than the area of the goal face. This results in the goal falling forward from almost any contact. Even the weakest wrist will knock it over, and if an adult hits one of the posts with a decent-strength shot, forget about it -- the pipes are going to fly apart. So here's what I did, because I thought the product is worth salvaging considering what I need it for...I went to the hardware store and bought 12 3-32 1-inch screws and bolts, a 7-64 drill bit, and a small bag of sand. I packed the bottom three pieces of piping with sand to make the goal bottom-heavy. Then I drilled holes in each spot where the bars insert into the elbow joints, and I attached a screw with a bolt into each hole. To make sure I didn't crack the pipes (it's made of fairly thin PVC plastic), I was very careful not to lean in with the drill too hard, and I screwed in the screws and bolts by hand -- just enough that they're tight enough not to fall out, but not lock-sealed tight so I didn't crack it.Now the goal is ideal for messing around in the driveway. The bottom is heavy enough that it doesn't tip over, it's still light enough that my 3-year-old can move it around, and the pipes don't separate when you hit the post. On the whole, I recommend this product, but it's not quite ready to go straight out of the box. If you go to the hardware store, drop an extra $6 on a couple items, and spend 15 minutes reinforcing the goal posts properly, you'll be happy with the purchase.

Great way to find out if your kids are interested in hockey
I bought this set for my kids (Ages 4-8). I wasn't sure how much they would want to play hockey, so I avoided some of the more expensive options and was able to snag this for around $16. I gave the product 5 stars based on the price paid and the quality of the item. While I have seen higher quality nets and sticks out there this one doesn't feel cheap at all, which was surprising for the price I paid. There is some assembly required (phillips screwdriver is the only tool you will need). I am easily frustrated when putting stuff together, but was able to get the net and sticks put together with ease in about 10 minutes with no frustration. The set comes complete with net, 2 sticks, and 1 ball. Knowing how things go missing (and they did after a few weeks) I also bought a pack of Franklin Sports NHL Foam Mini Hockey Balls . Do yourself a favor and get some extra hockey balls, not only has it been nice having extras in case a few go missing, but my kids aren't having to stop playing to go hunting for a ball out of play. They also come in handy when the kids want to practice shooting rapid fire.I am very pleased with this item as it has enabled me to give my kids a taste of hockey at a low price. And while the price was low this set isn't junk, and I don't see a need to upgrade to anything else in the near future. Whether you are wanting to give your kids a taste of hockey or just need a new hockey set, I think you will be happy with this product.

Much better than expected after reading some of the other reviews
Just got this today. I believe they must have done some updates to this based on some of the older reviews. Also, the net I got does not look exactly like the one in the picture. My net came with decent sized real (thin walled) PVC tubing and was really easy to assemble and seems very sturdy and durable. The sticks are a nice size for kids 3 to probably 7 or 8. My only complaint is that the wooden stick handles were very rough. I was worried the kids would get splinters so I gave the handles a quick sand. No big deal. I would have given 5 stars if the handles had a better finish.

Fun!
I bought this as an activity when playing outside with my 5 and 3 year old daughters. The stick size works well for both of them. They have quite a bit of fun, my 5 year old a bit more since she's more coordinated and can make better contact when whacking at the ball. It keeps their focus for awhile in an active way which is exactly what I wanted! One minor annoyance, and the reason I knocked off a star, is that the net's PVC pipes come loose from the joints pretty easily. Pretty much any time I move the net from point A to point B at least one of them disconnects.

Need weight to keep it from falling over
This is a good hockey set. There are two issues with it. One you have to put some kind of weight on it to keep it from falling over. The other is that the PVC pipes is a slight out of the elbows. I’m going to put tape around the joint so that they can stay together and I can still disassemble it

He shoots & scores!
Great little starter set for the young kids. Impromptu games break out in the driveway & garage all the time now. The goal is PVC & slides together without tools. It's pretty lightweight & I put a small sandbag on the back to weigh it down when we play. It states in the description that it folds up for storage. It does not, unless you take it apart. Not a big deal. But I could see that constantly taking this thing apart & putting back together would wear it out. The sticks come with the blades off & need to be attached with one included screw. The blades are also neutral (no pre-curve for left or right hand). It comes with one weighted Dek hockey ball. I would not use this for soccer or any type of kickball. Also, if you have older kids or are rough with this... look elsewhere.
