AmeriColor Soft Gel Paste Food Color, 4.5-Ounce, Super Red

Finally a food gel that turns red without using half the bottle, just a few drops and I get that vibrate bright red color not a pale red or pinkish red but bright red. I didn’t taste no weird aftertaste from the dye, Bottle size is decent think a small bottle of hot sauce in size. It’s easy to mix in to icing/frosting but be careful will stain your floor/counter if you get the gel directly on it and don’t clean it right away even on your skin of washed off may leave a slight stain for a few days. All in all worth it.

As always, this brand continues to be my go to food coloring gel. It is simple to use, produces a bright red without a ton of product and does nor effect the taste of my cookies. The gel goes a long way, making this is a fabulous value. The color does not bleed into other colors- even white. Plus, it does not turn your mouth red when you get the cookie.

My red velvet cake is requested every year. What are we going to do when red dye #40 is banned? I love the red red color.

In my opinion, this is the best gel on the market. I have used the super red for 14 years and have never had issues with separation when preparing my icing. It is a perfect consistency, has no taste or smell. I love the fact that I can also use it for other colors I am trying to achieve (pale pink, watermelon, deeper pink) as it only takes a tiny bit of color. So, the bottle size last me approximately 6 months. Americolor is the only brand that I trust for my cookies as it is so easy to use for all my baking needs.

America color has wonderful blue colors that come out true to color

Works beautifully! Made road kill rice crispy treats for my coworkers and they were a hit. Will probably buy a yellow for Christmas cookies. I'm making cat shaped shortbread with food coloring patterns. I added a lot to the treats and didnt taste food coloring like others did, so either my taste buds aren't very good or I didn't add as much as others.

My wonderful Kitchen Aid mixer conked out on me after only 2 months (but they replaced it right way) :-) at about 3 a.m. while in the midst of baking a Red Velvet cake for a dinner party the next day. When I went to pull down my old stand mixer I was so sleepy and tired that I forgot that I had 2 TBS of the Americolor Red Gel Paste Food Color on my counter and flipped it over. Wow! What a mess! I had to leave it after completing the cake-only managing to spray my tan-colored linoleum-tiled flooring and leaving my counter top, white stove, and other kitchen appliances stained with the vivid red food color. When I awoke from my brief nap 3 hours later I was able to remove the color from all surfaces and my guests were never aware of my mishaps. My shirt, however, is another story but It was old anyway. By the way, the cake was beautiful and I was able to successfully achieve the color that I was after!!! There was a slight bitter aftertaste to the batter that thankfully did not come through in the finished product-a huge relief.

Americolor is the only food dye that I have used that is super in it's color. Wilton cannot produce the color that I need when decorating a cake. Only americolor for me.
