A really wide hole, it fit my 17in(l)x14.5in(w) at the widest point. And backed it up with the safety bars bought separately. As, far as sturdiness, it will stay in place, but is easily pulled off. I'm going to reinforce the seat with something that makes it harder to pull off the toilet. Just for more security.

The height was great, easy to intall and pop into shower stall and clean with hand shower wand, but the plastic screws won't hold to grip onto bowl after 3 months of use in single person household. The plastic screw on one side of the seat loosens, causing the stabilizing grip to slip and the result is that the seat moves, gets very unstable and has become a fall risk. Unless you're a petite individual, I don't think this seat would ever make it to a year in daily use. And I am not grossly overweight.

Very helpful after knee replacement surgery. The only drawback is that a watch nerds to be on the screws as they can loosen with time.

I cannot express enough how blessed I am to have purchased this wonderful toilet bowl extension. I have pined for one for y-e-a-r-s. Because I have an imminent surgery, my dreams are all being realized, and I cannot wait to fully utilize it. While they were over for Thanksgiving dinner, I interrupted the World Cup to demonstrate its use to my family members, including cousins, nieces and nephews. They were thrilled with the way it fully engulfs all my - well, you know - dangly bits. It is spacious and roomy enough for several of us. There was one comment about TMI from one of our youngest. Since I don’t know what that stands for, I took it to mean they liked it. I have seated the new throne most handsomely, I think. Since acquiring this magnificent plastic monolith, I have started sleeping with it. My color dreams have me on-the-go all night long dancing with purple Charmin bears, but maybe it is the whiskey. After all, we all go, you know. My nightly cuddle has me ready to fully plant my face in the world every new day. I am placing another order for twenty more, soon, so that I can wrap them in ribbons and bows. I cannot wait to see these white angels lined up under the freshly scented pine tree. Many of my friends and family will treasure this gift for their entire lives. I am so thrilled; I have started answering the door with one around my neck. I have found it to be quite the conversation starter, especially at parties. A socially aware friend encouraged me to start an extended toilet bowl club. Everyone has been very supportive and excited to bring theirs along to our meetings. Since none of us know how to Zoom, we just slowly pass them around the room. Gently twirling them, we marvel at the fit, finish and styling, so much so that my face book account is filled with pictures, comments, hugs and likes. I review my page every day and make sure I share publicly. As I write this, I am taking mini- breaks to put the finishing touches on my shared PowerPoint. When I hinted at it to our city mayor, he told me It is going to be a real zinger and he would like to bring me up at the next council meeting. I will wear my new necktie, I think.

The seat itself is pretty sturdy and the wider opening is a big plus. On the downside the mechanisms that are supposed to hold it steady on the fixture just don’t hold because they’re not strong enough and they let go. As long as you keep squarely seated and do not move about though the seat will stay put.... but only just enough.

After hip surgery this is exactly what I needed. does not fit every toilet perfectly but is manageable

I purchased this raised toilet seat for my 92 year old mother with limited mobility. The seat has only been installed for 2 days and the plastic screw that are suppose to keep the seat stable do not. The screws feel like they are stripped when you try to turn them to keep the seat stable. The larger hole design is nice but the company needs to come up with another design to stabilize the toilet seat so it doesn’t slip from side to side or pull up as you try to get off of it. This seat is an accident waiting to happen and I don’t recommend purchasing it. Unfortunately I can’t return it as the box got thrown away. Update: I purchased the Kohler elevated toilet seat. I highly recommend it. Easy to install, fits like regular toilet seat with lid and very safe and secure.

Installed and easier for toilet use with having added height. Came in very handy after roommate had knee replacement surgery, making the height better for her. Only issue is there isn’t a deep lip on the toilet bowl so the side and front connectors are not as secure as I wish they where, causing the seat to turn to the side.
