Excellent quality and face. I might buy another one as a spare!
I have had several chronos and this one is excellent. Two sub-dials is the way to go. With this watch, one sub-dial is time seconds and the other is elapsed minutes. The "second" hand is used for elapsed seconds. The white hands and numerals on the dark brown background are extremely legible and readable. A quick glance is sufficient to check the time. Some watches are so terribly cluttered with logos and other gobblety-gook that they are almost unreadable. Watches with three have a face that is too cluttered. I've read the other reviews and some are just plain silly. The fit is quite good for my 7.5 inch wrist. The band is midway in the holes, so it could go another inch larger or smaller. Some have said the sub-dials on the min don't line up. Mine lines up perfectly. Now that others have said the band is not waterproof I will try my utmost to keep it dry; no showers! If you want to use it as a serious stopwatch, set the time to 9:15. You can always reset it when done timing. Otherwise, like all chronos, the time hands WILL obstruct view of the stopwatch minutes. One nice thing about the lugs is they do NOT curve down. Watches with lugs that curve down tend to dig into the pisiform bone on the wrist. With the band sufficient snug, the pisiform bone and leather strap work well in keeping the watch in position. It does not slide around the way heavier watches do. The watch weighs 77 grams. I have a Victorinox INOX quartz and it weighs 150grams. That pig won't stay still on my wrist. This Seiko is light enough that it stays put and I hardly know it is on my wrist. The finish is excellent with polished sides, but non-distracting satin on the lugs' top. Might buy another just as a spare! The lume is pretty good. Only problem though is all my house lights are LED which have a very narrow light band and is not sufficient to light the lume for very long after going to bed. That's an issue some people are not aware of; the narrow spectrum of LED household bulbs. The redder the light the less the lume will be charged. Note there is even a bit of lume of the stopwatch "seconds" hand.

Best watch I've ever had
This watch has been on my wrist for five days straight. It's so beautiful and trustworthy I don't ever feel like taking it off.The hands tick in exact incraments and I haven't seen a single second lost so far. The indiglow works very well it'll soak up enough light to function for guite a while even if it isn't exposed to the brightest light that long. The chronograph works very well not a single problem there. Also IMPORTANT the second hand is not broken whatsoever. The standard second hand (the long skinny one) is not the true functioning one. It is actually the timers second hand. Which in my opinion adds some intrigue and in a way hilariousness to the watch because it's so out of the norm. Anyway the true second hand that ticks with every second it the smaller dial that also houses the day window.I've read some problems with the bands being cheap or poorly made but mine is in great condition and wears perfectly for meLast of all the only minor peeve I have is that there isn't an hour dial for the chronograph feature. I would have liked one but to be honest it wouldn't have seen much use, but I do like to have things like that for the rare just incase moments, and this specific designe not have a model that had that feature brings me down just a tiny bit but I can easily still live without the hour because the timer is constant even ever an hour has passed it'll just continue to go until you hit stop. All in all this watch will not be leaving my person for years to come and I'm just that happy to say it.

A watch that Howard Hughes would have enjoyed! A watch for real men....
I started wearing Seiko watches as a teen, when my military veteran father explained how he had discovered this high quality durable watch brand while being stationed in Asia back in the 1960s. These watches served him well through multiple wars and military conflicts, so I knew they would be able to withstand anything I put them through. The twinkle in his eye when discussing the nostalgia of wearing this watch while traveling in the 60s still haunts me to this day.I selected this particular Seiko recently because as a frequent traveler myself, I was looking for an Aviator watch to pay homage to Howard Hughes. Something to wear when I’m flying in Khakis and a button down, when I don’t want to sport my more pretentious gold dress watches. This watch has a beautiful brown face that goes well when dresses in earth tones, and the brown leather band is certainly intended for a man of action. The face is very sharp and easy to read, even after sitting in the United club and downing numerous stiff drinks. When the cabin is dark for sleeping, the numbers light up and are perfectly legible. This timepiece does its job when you’ve got to know when a waitress gets off work, or when a stewardess has to leave your hotel room to catch her morning flight. The chronometer comes in handy for timing your wheels up to wheels down sprints cross country. While I don’t think this watch will knock anyone’s socks off, I must say that isn’t the reason to buy a watch like this anyway. For the purchaser of these timepiece, it will no doubt be one of many in their collection and come in handy for certain situations and outfits. Only real men need apply this timepiece to their wrists.

Best value for the money
As with most seiko timepieces, the quality is evident here. This is ALOT of watch for this price point. Not a dress watch, but definitely a dressy flieger/field dial going on. The crown feels sturdy, the pushers are firm and responsive, the sub dials are legible with the brown dial and the chapter ring is a nice detail and actually helps read the chronograph hand, which ticks smoothly. And is SUPPOSED to be the second hand, as with most chronographs. The lume is also surprisingly bright - but short lived, If this were a dress watch, it would most likely have no lume at all. I personally love the brown dial and strap, the strap can always be changed for another 22mm. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT watch!

Awesome
Excellent Seiko build quality. Have used this watch for months before the review. Strap is not the best looking or the best kind of leather. Very classy metal finish on the case. The hardlex glass is quite reflective but not so bad you hate it, and its survived more than a few bad knocks already with not a scratch. Don't know what the other reviews are cribbing about. The movement is made in Japan. This is a Seiko America product.-The Global Store experience was not the best, took more than it needed to reach me. The product landed in Bangalore a few days after placing the order, then was flown to Gurgaon, where it was lying in their warehouse for a week, and then shipped via surface transport back to Bangalore and was finally delivered, nearly a month after placing the order, by Aramex which turned out to have terrible service in India. Also some issues with the ID proof. The global store customer service team were polite and helpful though.
