Paint Along with Jerry Yarnell Volume Two - Painting Inspirations

I like all of Jerry Yarnell's art books, and this is no exception. He discusses the basics, similar to information in his other books, especially in this series. Then he has ten step-by-step painting projects (in oils, but useful for most other mediums as far as much of the basics). He covers mountains, skys / clouds, trees, buildings, birds, water, and similar, with his techniques readily transferable to a painting with your own subject matter. His techniques are more advanced compared to Bob Ross' Joy of Painting and similar, so could be considered a next step in one's painting education.

This was the 2nd book I bought by Jerry Yarnell. The book is well-written, thorough, & has great illustrations. It is full of good information that you can use in your own paintings, plus it has detailed, step by step instructions to enable you to see & apply the effects in your own work. He's a great teacher. This book is well worth the price. I love his style of painting & would definitely recommend it for a beginner or a professional artist's collection.

This book not only demonstrates how to set up and paint pictures, but explains the reasons for the actions. Give a person a fish, and he/she will eat for today. Teach a person how to fish, and he/she will eat for the rest of his/her life.

Not bad as a painter . Book is of instructional value , with at least 12, usually 16 steps illustrated per project. Artist uses way to much purple ,in all examples. Thus giving either an over cast, or unrealistic air. Other wise quite useful.

This is one of my favorite instruction books. I love sunsets. Can't quite figure why anyone would trash it like one of the other reviews on this book. Personally I think I need Gods help to achieve a likeness of anything I paint. I'm not a "natural" and I can't remember key mixes for colors so I rely on books like Jerry's to give me bought talent. I don't expect a book to make me a artist by any means. I'm fascinated by anything I do that has a semblance to Jerry's work. I think I'm ahead of the game. Duffer

I love Jerry Yarnell both as an artist and as an instructor. His paintings are beautiful and his instructions are clear. I started watching him on his Master Artist program on TV and record all the episodes. Great!

I used it for studying and practicing my paintings. All the jerry yarnell books I bought was totally very helpful.

I have all of Jerrys books except volume one now.. so I knew pretty well what to expect. The books are very informative and easy to understand. This volume was as expected and was new condition.. .I was very pleased...

Love this book! It is for myself as I am teaching myself the various techniques. Great pictures inside - but not as easy as what it looks, it is difficult to learn someones years and years of experience out of one book - but still very inspirational!

Very easy to follow instruction has made my paintings far better - love the way he instructs on colours etc.
