Art Nouveau Decorative Ironwork (Dover Jewelry and Metalwork)

Consistently beautiful front to back, though some of the stuff isn't art-noveau to my eye, so much as good looking, and from that time.This is a record of an aesthetic, not a technical manual. If you're looking for a blacksmithing How-To, do not buy this.

It. Works as a reference guide, it has nice pictures, i wish more of them would be colour and i wish it would have more information about the projects

Great book!

Very good historical book

This one of the only monographs showing Art Nouveau ironwork available. In that respect, it is an indispensable reference for the artist blacksmith working in the style. However, I second the review criticizing the quality of the reproductions of photos. I have both the paper and Kindle versions (yeh...call me an Art Nouveau geek) and was disappointed that the Kindle version is missing the photo for the last plate, 119E. That needs to be fixed.

A good book great service

There are a few familiar examples, but most of these photos have not been reproduced elsewhere. Pages 67 & 81 are sublime. There are however about a dozen non-Art Nouveau buildings. That's not bad, out of 137 photos. It's really an excellent book!

This is a great book for reference photos! but I was disappointed in the print quality, some photos are faded and one is even blurry (double image) the designs in this book are really inspiring. this book would be a great addition to your collection.

アール･ヌーボー期に建てられた建物の、ドアや階段の手すり、窓枠等の写真を集めた本。写真は百年近く前に撮られたものがほとんどなのでしょう、全て白黒で懐かしい雰囲気。既に実在しない建物も多いのではないでしょうか？アール･ヌーボー独特の曲線や植物モチーフが盛り沢山です。往時の街角の雰囲気を楽しみながら、デザインの参考にもなる、良書。古い写真が元なので、画質が少々荒いのが残念。ちょっと減点して☆４．５というところ。
