The best day pack I own
I'm a bit of a backpack buying addict so I've owned packs of varying quality. I initially just wanted this pack because it's slightly larger brother, the "Dragon Egg" appears in Ghost Recon. The Dust is just a tad small than the Dragon Egg but is just the right size for single day adventures. I wore it daily during a week long visit to Disney World and was very pleased with this packs storage capacity and weight distribution. The padded shoulder straps do an excellent job of keeping your shoulders from aching and help you retain good posture. Another feature I enjoy about the Dust is the dual integrated water bottle pouches on the sides of the pack. Our Camelbak Chute 32oz water bottles fit perfectly snug into these pouches and makes for nearly perfect weight distribution (something VERY important when it comes to all day hikes). The Dust has more pockets than I had an exact need for during our Disney stay and that's a good thing. You have space for a sizeable Camelbak and a quick access pocket for your wallet or phone. I'm very pleased with the Dust and will carry it on all of our future trips. If you're still on the fence, don't be. It's made of extremely durable Cordura and will last a very, very long time. If you're planning on carrying a little bit more on a day trip or have to carry stuff for your kids, I'd opt for a slightly larger model like the Dragon Egg. I'll definitely buy another Direct Action pack in the future.
