Pioneer Pet Replacement Filters for Ceramic & Stainless Steel Fountains, Raindrop Filters (3 Filters),White

I have five pets - three dogs and two cats - and have found that using a fountain for their water encourages them to drink more (one of the cats is prone to UTIs, so this has been a significant help in keeping him healthy). We have both a Pioneer Big Max fountain, and a Pioneer Raindrop fountain, and are happy with both of them. The stainless steel is very easy to clean, and these filters are simple to switch out. The same filters work for both fountains. I have seen the filters for sale in local stores, but I never remember to buy them, so I set up a Subscribe & Save plan and they are delivered to my door every month. I normally clean the fountains and change the filters twice a month, but on occasions when I don't get around to it right away, I have never had any problems with the filters not working. I would recommend the Pioneer pet fountains, and the Subscribe & Save plan for the filters, without reservation.

Save Money and Keep Our Planet Green. Here's how to do it. Each of these little v-shaped filter cartridges is actually two plastic halves that snap together. Simply use a sharp kitchen knife to wedge between the two halves and work around the outside until the two halves come apart. Inside you will find two thin outer felt filters with a bunch of black rocks (activated charcoal) sandwiched in between. Keep the two felt filters but throw away the activated charcoal. Place the two felt filters and the two outer plastic halves in a bowl and soak in water with a splash of bleach added. Allow to soak for two hours. This kills all bacteria and mold that may have accumulated and helps clean the filter. Completely and throroughly rinse with water until no bleach smell. Allow to dry. Next go to Amazon, Wally World or your favorite pet supply store. In the fish and aquarium supply department you will find bulk activated charcoal for sale. You will recognize the black rocks and its cheap in loose bulk form. Next, just reassemble the filters with the felt on each side and pour the charcoal in one side, high enough to keep the felt pressed against the walls of the filter. Your done! I do this with about 6 filters at a time to save time and it allows me to change out my filters more frequently for cleaner water. Good Luck!

I haven't found any knock offs or dupes of these filters so I continue to buy them. Get them on sale for best value. Do the job!

I have three dogs and two cats, and two of the Pioneer Stainless Steel pet fountains: one large, and one small. The Large version is a community fountain that serves all five animals, while the small version is tucked away in a "safe" place for the cats to use when they want to get away from the dogs. I'm VERY happy with these fountains... I've used and thrown away countless other fountains over the past several years. These are extremely easy to clean, which means they are often cleaned daily. These filters have a long life and they're very cost effective, unlike filters for other brands. They're also rather foolproof to install and use. I've read where other reviewers have taken these apart and replaced both the floss and the carbon so that they could be reused, however based upon our use, I just don't see that as necessary. With regular cleaning, the filters last a long time and they're inexpensive, so why go to the trouble of remanufacturing them? I don't know that this would be a savings to me.

Top line: Will remove the finer things (hair, dirt) from your bowl; not designed for chunkier things like food Good: Purchased for my stainless Pioneer pet fountain, these filters do a great job keeping pet hair, dirt, and other small contaminants out of my pets' water. They are easy to install and also remove and clean, extending the life. I typically get about 3 months out of one, which is more than reasonable to me. Bad: Whether it's the pressure of the pump or configuration of the filter, it's not quite capable of trapping larger particles. Things like food or bugs are not going to be filtered--there's simply not enough space/power in the filter to pull that off. It's very similar to an air conditioning filter in that way. I've also had a couple filters come apart on me while removing them (to clean the whole unit). They separate at the seam and black carbon dust leaks out. Both times, they were near the end of their life, so maybe it's more of a durability issue. Other: If you have an expectation that using this filter = never having to clean your bowl again, expect disappointment. These filters provide peace of mind and seem to make my pets happier / more willing to hydrate. Based on the cost (overall low), I consider that good value.

This replacement filter is for my Pioneer Fountain that my cat uses. You get 3 filters in one box. Great value for money spent. I have checked at pet stores and if they even carry this, it's three times the price. I only have one cat, so there is not as much strain on the filter as other users have indicated. It does a great job at removing the excess saliva, hair, and grime that builds up. I can stretch this filter for about 3 months and it's great value for the cost. I have a diabetic cat and I have to spend thousands a year on her medicine and vet visits. I'm happy I don't have to spend a lot on the filters. They are easy to change and you just throw out the old and put in the new. My kitty usually indicates when it's getting time for a new one. She will paw at the water or just not drink it when it's not being filtered enough. I'm not very savvy at changing and replacing things around the house, but this is easy!

I bought the pioneer raindrop fountain and once it arrived I realized that the flutters need to be changed every 4 weeks or so. The deal offered here was much cheaper than all the other alternatives and the shipping was fast and convienent. Also easy to change the filter.

The fit my fountain well and aren't too expensive. Would be nice to find a cheaper one though.
