I bought these crimpers on November 24th, 2016 and received them on November 26th. They came in a blister pack and placed in a small box wihtout packing material, none was needed, it's a tool. I have used it for crimping insulated electrical blade connectors and the barrel connectors from the small reds to the big yellows and they have made a solid crimp each and every time. It makes a double type of crimp that is much more solid than the single crimp from the scissor type crimpers. I have used them in automotive wiring and in household electrical wiring projects and love the one handed operation and the solid feel of the resulting connection. The price was reasonable compared to other crimpers and the feel of the tool is solid making me believe it will last for years. These is no play in the working of the mechanism and it seems to have a high build quality. I am considering another purchase of this tool for my shop because I have to go to the work van to retrieve this one every time I need it at home. I am happy with this tool and will not go back to the old way of crimping with a cheap single crimp scissor type crimper. Pros: Solidly constructed A comfortable grip Solid crimps Reasonable price point Cons: None ***UPDATE*** I purchased a second pair of this tool for use at home in my shop and it works just as well as the first pair. Will never again try crimping wire connectors without them.

I cannot believe I didn't know this tool existed. I am almost 40 and I have been crimping stuff since I was a kid. This tool is a must have!!! I cannot say how the longevity will hold up with these, but so far they have been great, make the job WAAYYY easier and feel really sturdy and like a good quality tool. I have never taken a picture for a review, but I felt this tool was worthy. The one thing I do wish it had was the ability to let go. If you crimp in the wrong spot you have to finish compressing in order for the tool to release (unless there is something I missed about the tool). Overall, this tool makes crimping butt connectors and such so much easier than conventional crimpers and does an amazing job! If you do any kind of crimping, even if it is a one time job, you will not be wasting your money with this tool!

I read many of the 1 and 2 star reviews AFTER I used this crimper on various electrical connectors. From my experience, the type and quality of connector you use makes a BIG difference. I have some low dollar steel import crimp on ends and they didn't crimp very well. Some of the yellow connectors would not crimp completely. I had to put the Titan crimper in a bench vise to get it to compress fully because I didn't have enough hand strength to compress the crimpers all the way. I'm a 6'1" / 220 pound weight lifter who can shrug 495 pounds on a bar - it's not a hand strength issue. Then I used the Titan crimper with Wirefy copper connectors available on Amazon. The Wirefy connectors are made of 100% copper with a 3:1 polyeolefin shrink tube integrated on the connector. The key here is the copper connector - it's softer than steel, compresses completely and far more easily than the cheap steel connectors. The Wirefy connectors are not cheap but they work great with the Titan crimpers. I could not get the cheap steel connectors to crimp with my old crimping tool - so it's not the tool, its the actual connector you are using. Pro: -Heavy duty, well made tool -Crimps copper connectors very solidly - I've used it on 12 - 18 gauge copper wire with no issues -The Red/Blue/Yellow designation on the crimper jaws is handy Con: -No release - if you put a heavy duty yellow steel connector in the Titan crimper, you'd better have a hand like Hellboy or a bench vise near by. -Not the best design for leverage - the handles are too close together and there is not enough mechanical advantage. I can understand why some folks mught be disappointed in this tool. But with large steel connectors or even smaller steel connectors you need a LOT of force to compress them - almost pneumatic or hydraulic. This is a $25 hand tool - understand the limitations and buy the proper connectors and you will give this tool a 4-5 star rating. If you don't, it explains the 1-2 star ratings.

These types of crimpers are highly recommended over the standard ones you get in a department store. These are of good quality with a comfortable grip. The ratcheting mechanism works well, and they make a solid crimp. These store well in toolbox.

Of comparable crimpers found online for sale, these are the best bang for your buck! Spend a couple of extra dollars and avoid the hassle of working with cheap, unreliable, poorly performing offbeat or generic brands. You will be please to find the outstanding quality and performance from these crimpers. They operated properly the first time every time, making rock solid reliable crimps every time. The heat shrink style connectors are not damaged by these pliers. There is an adjustment (which compensates for over or undersized connectors and different insulation / heat shrink thicknesses). The adjustment requires the removal of a screw and is very stiff to change. That aside I would rather a stiff adjustment vs something that falls apart. These are a must if you work with heat shrink connectors. Though somewhat bulky for tight areas, they work great. The ratcheting design ensures the same crimp every time! Even if they may cost a dollar or two more, you, your coworkers, and customers will gain from these time saving pliers.

As I get older and have a greater appreciation for taking the time to do a job that will be done "forever". I have come to love these job specific tools. This crimper, like many others, have a die that makes 2 impressions on the connector instead of 1 like those on the end of a cheap stripper/crimper tool. They also have the benefit of fulcrum which compresses the connector with much less force, yet doesn't risk crushing it too much. When you have a bunch to do, it makes the job much easier to handle. I have thrown out all of my cheap "plastic" style insulator connectors that I used to have in favor of heat-shrink connectors that are available these days. I find that they not only have a better connection, I have yet to have to change one out. A lot of my work is done in a saltwater marine environment, and not having had one fail yet is a significant improvement over the cheap stuff. This crimper does a great job of not "cutting" through the somewhat more fragile heat shrink material. Don't leave home (for a wiring job) without it.
