If PVC pipe is used in the well house, can this be attached using that type of pipe and fittings

I used silicone gasket compound on the fittings that screw into the filter housing instead of teflon tape to make sure they would not leak. I purchased a Culligan mounting bracket to help support the filter housing since the pipe is cpvc. I also added by-pass valves and pipe so that if I need to replace the filter housing I will still have water. A few dollars more, but I will always have water.

Can be installed outdoor?

I installed mine outdoor but I built a small 'closet' around it to protect it from freezing temperatures AND from the sun since UV typically degrades plastic.

Does it reduce water pressure? A water pump is needed before the filter?

Yes it will reduce water pressure like any other filter. I have the 3/4" version and when the filter has a new cartidge in it, pressure drop is about 1-2 PSIG. Over time as the filter does it's job, pressure drop increases. I get about 2 months with a 10 micron filter. I have a well system, so obviously has a pump. If you're filtering city water, the city has pumps. Bottom line, to use this system you must have a pump to force the water through it. Hope this helps...

what pressure drop can I expect with a new filter

I have a pressure gauge after the filters, which I have 2, a 5 micron and then a 1 micron and there is no pressure drop. It has 55 psi coming in to my house and 55 psi after both of the filters. The only time I notice a drop is when they get dirty. The 5 micron filter is usually good for 90 days and the 1 micron filter is usually good for 6 months. The pressure drop is never more than 5 psi.

I use this for my cold plunge

Clear looks

Seems to work good. I love that it is clear! I had a leaking issue. I took everything apart and used more Teflon tape, so don't be shy with it! When I put everything back together, I got a cross tread issue -being metal screwing into plastic. I'm sure it will me fine as long as I never have to take anything apart, So be careful with that. I ordered a new filter that is supposed to last 12 months and is 5 Microns to reduce Chlorine, odor taste etc.. I also put a sediment filter on before this one. I bought a 5 FT section of PEX for $5 and used shark fittings. This install is Half house -before the water heater!

Best standard size filter. Upgraded dual o-rings!

Im very gay, still in the closet, but want to get out and show the world! And this filter is as good as you can get. Double rubber, o-ring placed better and not sitting on top of housing getting stretched out. I've put over a hundred in of these culligan standard duty filters, and the upgrade o-rings are the real deal! I never use the turn depressurization knob, or any type of red push buttons on any filters as they can leak. Just turn off the main water, open a sink faucet to release pressure, and replace filter, when turning water back on the water and air has a place to purge out so you won't blow the o-ring. And slowly turn water on, don't give it immediate full pressure, you'll be good to go!
