Review: Work great! As good as new speakers. - Was shipped promptly. Arrived in excellent condition. Was easy to install following instruction video. Work great. Sounds good as new at much cheaper price than new speakers. Would be again. Review: Good Quality, fast shipping but expensive and a lot of work. - As advertised, worked great. A lot of work to do and overpriced for what they are (but reasonable when compared to other vendors in the same niche market.. Only slightly more expensive.) The industrial rubber cement that comes with the kit is probably closest to the original glue of any vendor. On the Mach II's you really want to put the foam behind the cone as it was originally. Contrary to the instructions. Doing so will make centering the cone a breeze with these speakers when gluing on the outside. Getting the old gunk off is a real pain but this isn't the vendors problem. Quick shipping and good quality... Just expensive for what you get.

Job went well and quickly.
Old Mach 2's like new again!. Excellent product, easy install (about 40 min per speaker for me including removal of old foam, clean up of residue, etc.). Follow the instructions on You Tube for a rear-mounted foam - speakers will look like original. This is the first re-foaming I have ever done and I am impressed. Now I'm looking at my other vintage gear and thinking I can restore that too! Tip: Rubbing alcohol is helpful for remoing old foam residue on cone after getting as much off with your fingers as you can.

New Speakers
My 26 year old Realistic Mach II speakers are new again. The procedure was so simple, I had to stop at one point and watch the video again because I thought I was missing something. How simple. If you follow Simply Speakers written and online videos (YouTube and Simply Speakers website) there is no way you can go wrong. If you are unsure and have questions, just pick up the phone and give them a call. Thank You Simply Speakers for my NEW sounding Mach II speakers.

The speakers are performing like new at high volume and base settings
I repaired two 15-inch Realistic Optimus woofer speakers that were purchased in 1976 by replacing the split, degraded foam surrounds using the referenced kits. The speakers are performing like new at high volume and base settings, remaining encased in their attractive wooden floor cabinets. The repair effort and low cost have proven quite advantageous to my listening satisfaction and pocketbook.

Foam too stiff, substantially reduces woofer compliance and degrades bass
The foam is of good quality, the glue is excellent, and the vendor's support is very good. The problem is, the original Mach 2 woofer is a high-conpliance design, with a loose suspension. The simplyspeakers foam is much stiffer. Which drastically reduces the compliance of the woofer, raises resonant frequency, and substantially reduces the sound quality of the bass compared to the original speaker. Their grille cloth is excellent however.

"Bottom End" Restored!
I didn't know these products existed. I was just about ready to trash my four 30 year old mach two's, the price of replacing four 15" woofers was more than I wanted to put into these 30 year old speakers. Then I came across this product. For less than the cost of one woofer, I repaired all four. The folks at Simply Speakers are very helpful and between them and the videos they have, anyone do this. Once again I'm hearing and feeling that "mean bottom end", don't ya just love that bass! A big thanks to my beautiful woman for her support in this project.
