Folk Embroidered Felt Birds: 20 Modern Folk Art Designs to Make & Embellish

have had fun making two of these birds. I didn't have the right colors of felt so it didn't look like the examples in the book, but the instructions made it easy. I have no experience with embroidery, but I can't speak more highly of the instructions at the beginning of the book for the different embroidery stitches! I have referred back to this book multiple times when working on other projects because of the clear instructions on the different embroidery stitches.

I love this book; just enough instruction and a great selection of birds. Beautiful quality.

Even if you had no intention of taking up the craft of embroidering felt birds, you might be tempted to buy this book because of the sheer beauty of its designs and the stunning photography portraying them. If you ARE a practitioner of this craft, sprint, do not walk to Amazon (metaphorically) and get your copy. The templates are full size (Yay!) and the instructions could not be clearer. I have just put in an order on Amazon for the supplies I will need. Amazon has a lovely palette of wool blend felt squares and everything you will need to get going. Definitely buy the wool blend felt which the author recommends. It makes such a difference. It's a little bit of a splurge but these beautiful avians deserve it! Enjoy!

I have had a lot of fun with this book, but I do a lot of this kind of sewing and am always on the lookout for felt patterns. The instructions are okay, but the puffin completely stumped me. I think there is a pattern piece missing. I used thin strips of material over the wire for the legs. Soaked it in a glue water mixture and let it dry. Just couldn't find any tape! Got the chickens wings on upside down but the recipient did not care in the least!

I hesitated to purchase book due to so few pictures by such high reviews. I gave it a go and Glad I did. I’ve added a video and several photos for those of you browsing😊. This book is Exceptional! 20 projects, 8 pages of embroidery how to. Yes the templates need to be traced, or photo copy for Your use only. Some mention a few projects are missing templates. I haven’t begun to make one yet, but think with the many patterns one can utilize pieces from other patterns to complete any project that may be missing pieces. You will be Inspired by this book to create flock’s of birds. They’ll make unique gifts and special Christmas ornaments. Just Buy the book and enjoy.

The patterns are well thought out, directions easy to follow. I played around with some of the colors to make other birds. Fun book.

I was drawn to the book by the birds on the cover. Not only will these make a great tabletop display, but cute ornaments as well. I love the thorough embroidery stitch directions. Cannot wait to start stitching these birds!

Me ha gustado mucho este libro porque tiene unas fotografías y trabajos excelentes, aunque hubiera preferido tenerlos en castellano, ya que entendería más rápidamente las explicaciones. De todas ,maneras es un libro que vale la pena tener. Lo recomiendo. Llegó rápido y muy bien.
