EDIT: When I bought these wheels, I swapped the 16T cog for a 17T and happily rode brakeless for a while. But, not long after I reviewed these wheels, I swapped the 17T rear cog for a 13T and the lockring stripped out on the first ride, leaving me no way to stop. When I took them apart to try to figure out what happened, I found that the hub had a washer behind the cog (which I hadn't seen before). It looks like this washer made the effective thickness of the cog too large, which meant that the lockring couldn't fully thread into place. The additional torque created by the smaller cog stripped the hub lockring threads, making it into worthless junk. So, if you plan to run a smaller cog, make sure that you remove the washer between the cog and hub. And take a few shakedown rides in a low-traffic area before you depend on this wheel to save your life. Pretty disappointing.Original Review:I bought these wheels for a trash-heap fixie that I built. They are pretty nice wheels for the money. The rear is a flip-flop hub that comes with a 16T cog and a lockring. They also come with tires and tubes already installed. They were well-packaged and arrived in good condition. On the first ride, I could hear popping sounds as some of the spokes settled into place, but they quieted down quickly. The wheels have held up well to a few months of riding and have stayed true.The tires that these come with are 700x23C tires made from a hard compound rubber. They skid well and don't wear too quickly, but 23C is a very narrow tire. If you ride on any gravel roads (or rough, pothole-y paved roads), you're going to want a larger tire. After getting a couple of pinch flats, I swapped them out for a pair of 700x32C tires that handle the rough streets here a little better. The rims are very narrow, so there is probably a limit to how big you can go with the tires. I felt good with a 32C, but probably wouldn't put anything larger than a 38C tire on these rims.Overall, I'm very happy with the wheels and would say they're a good buy for the price.

These wheels didn't have any reviews when I bought them so I was pretty nervous. I even did some searching around online but not much came up. I went for it anyways and I couldn't be happier! The rims are perfectly true and feel very sturdy. That's perfect for the kind of potholes urban riding I do. The tires are serviceable but you really should replace them with some quality tires but it isn't really necessary. Also, the shipping requires you to sign for it at the door so I had to go pick them up at FedEx. All in all, very happy with my purchase!

OK, first fantastic price—enough to worry me. Then the shipment arrived early with box intact and wheels well packed. Wheels were true and in good shape with 700x23 tires, tubes, and rim tape in place. Stainless spokes were properly tensioned with no loose spokes. Wheel was round and true. Cog is decent fixed 16t—ride it until worn and replace as needed. Not familiar with hubs but they are quiet and smooth. Installed rear wheel on my bike and took it for quick ride. Perfect. Wonderful purchase.
