Q: can this be used alone to make moulds

Hell no! It is a thickening agent (very fine powder). I used it with liquid rubber polyurethane 2 part system Polytech 74-30HT. It worked excellent (5stars!). If you are going to make a mold apply a parting agent to your master form (plug) then few coats of 74-30 without the thickening agent. Allow each coat enough to be tack free and apply next coat. After initial 2 coats add 3-4 coats of 74-30 each with increasing amous of the powder filer. After you have achieved sufficient thickness you need to coat the whole thing with ridgid shell so it would contain and support the flexible rubber mold. I used plaster saturated cloath (bandages) to do it. You can search YouTube videos just like I did and learn the process. Good luck!

Q: Can this be used to thicken fiberglass resin?

my guess is that this is inert with epoxy as it is with urethane. The amount you add determines how plastic or thick it becomes.
