Smart Power Strip - The Good and The Bad
We recently got an Amazon bundle as a gift, complete with Echo Show, Echo Dot and one smart receptacle. After setting up and using these devices, we got hooked and wanted to explore more devices, so I found this strip, which was going to resolve the multiple lights and wiring headache. After a prompt delivery from Amazon (Thanks Alexa for the magical announcement of it's arrival!), we unpacked the strip and started the setup. What I thought would be quick, wasn't at all, and through 45 minutes of headache and frustration, it finally worked. We got spoiled by the ease of setup of Amazon branded devices, so this strip was off the beaten path, a path I didn't expect to take. Firstly, you need their app installed first (which I was hesitant to have to install a separate app for something that was compatible with the Echo Dot). Anywho, after that, you have to create an account, then go to Alexa and go through the paces of setting up the device (which isn't in their default list of compatible devices), point Alexa to the new strip, and get they paired, which wasn't easy either. In the end, we wound up using the skill to run the whole strip, instead of the individual outlets, just to lessen the headache for now. We have two lights hooked up to the strip and with one command, they both turn on and off. I may, when the spirit moves me, create separate functions for each light, but that's for another day.All in all, the strip works fine, despite it hiding underneath our bed, so signal isn't an issue if you need to place the strip out of sight. Construction of the strip seems on par with any other multi-plug strip. Instructions for setting up and pairing need a little more work and the app could use some refinement too, but hey for such a small cost, I guess it's worth a little headache. Once you get past the setup, everything is smooth sailing. :)

Instructions badly printed/too small to read, so have not used this product!!!
Sounds like a great idea, BUT CANNOT READ TEENIE PRINT INSTRUCTIONS!!! Paying to have instructions enlarged!!! NOT EASY SO FAR….

safety and ease of mind
This July when I was in Taiwan visiting my grandma, I upgraded her power surge. She was frugal and her power surge has 2 plugs already not working and the inside wire is sticking out but she kept using it. While helping her to get a new one, I realize there are a lot of new safety features of the new generation power surge. When I come back to the USA, I want to upgrade mine as well. I especially like the auto shut off, preventing overheating, flame proof materials. The gap between the plugs are large enough so for kitchen appliances with bigger plugs, I do not have to sacrifice any plugs, I can use all four. I also like the wifi feature. I can turn everything off right before I go to sleep by turning the whole power surge off. With the app, you can also set the timer for each plug to turn on and off. That is piece of mind for me. I do not like to install apps for every device I own but it is what it takes for this to work remotely. Nothing can replace the fact that I can remote control to ensure safety at home when I have to run out of the door in a hurry and might forget to turn off something.

reliable and easy
This is a great Wifi enabled power strip. We use it to control our bedside table lamps with Alexa and have enjoyed the simplicity and convenience. Who wants to un-snuggle when you're already cuddled together in bed? So easy to just tell Alexa good-night and drift off. Yes...we're spoiled.Wasn't hard to setup.Only odd thing is the feel of the plug receptacles. They work fine, but have zero resistance to plugs being inserted or pulled out. It's like the openings are too big. Like I said though, they work. Maybe it's an improvement on plug design?

Helpful addition to my house!
I use this in my garage/laundry room, where I have a string of lights and a fan plugged into it. The very first thing to keep in mind when setting this up is to be close to your router. It took me several tries to get it set up, because it just wouldn't connect from my garage. Once I got it initially connected, though, I unplugged it from inside the house and plugged it in in the garage, and it works perfectly. Each socket can be controlled individually, or you can control the whole thing. This is handy, because during the summer, I can turn on both the fan and the light in a single command, while in the winter, I'll be able to only turn on the light, again with a single command.

Very good smart plug power strip
I bought 2 of these to use as timers/smart plugs for my reptile heat/night lights. These work amazingly, and each outlet can be controlled individually by Google Home or Alexa. The app (eFamilyCloud) that you download to set these up is simple to use and links easily with Google. I set timers for each outlet in that app, as well as set it up with routines in the Google Home app. It is so much easier than having a bunch of individual smart plugs connected to a power strip, which was my setup prior to this. The instructions do not mention that it works with the Google Home app, or with the Google Assistant, but rest assured that it does. Extremely easy to set up and use, and the timers are 100% accurate. I would highly recommend these, as "name-brand" ones sell for upwards of $70 each in stores.

great. if you don't need tech support
bought this in Dec. 2020. Installed it soon after and it worked fine until I switched / upgraded my network to an ASUS mesh. Now, I can't get it to connect, and apparently, my ability to receive tech support ended in June. so, I'm annoyed and I won't be buying this again. googled the efamily line and nothing seems to be appropriate or helpful. don't know whether this went EOL, or what, but I am annoyed at the inability to get tech support. how tough is it to provide a tech support link?

Painful setup. Flawless operation.
The setup on this thing was a nightmare. I actually thought it was broken and almost returned it. I put it back in the box and waited a few days, tried again and it worked just fine. I cant explain it; and I'm a pretty technical person.Once setup, it works perfectly. I have custom schedules setup for each outlet and occasionally turn things on manually with the app.
