California Costumes Men's Roman Gladiator Adult

Got this Costume for my Hubby; for Halloween Party 2024. Based on all the reviews got a Smaller Size, which would be a SMALL. Normally he would be a MEDIUM chest size 40. The costume was still a little bit big on him, But all I have to do is tie on him as tight a possible on the back. Some of the pieces I will be sewing them on so that they stay in place (but anyone can easily use a safety pin, if you cant sew). The Tunic is big but, it has to be that way so that there's room to move around. The Seam at the Neckline (which is WAY big) is very visible but if you fold it in when ironing it it will look good. Length is good. Chest piece is made of Foam & Plastic Looks realistic Considering how its made. The Arm pieces and Forearms I will be sewing them so that they fit snug on him & will add a little velcro to the arm band (Again, that's easily fixed with just using a few safety pins to stay in place) For the Shin Guards I will be adding Velcro so that the will fit tighter and the flap won't look like is about to fall off. Needed a cheap Roman guard costume for the children's Christmas play. Somehow I got suckered into playing the Roman Centurion... Wanted to buy another costume that had better reviews and sizing choices, but delivery estimate was after Christmas... so bought this "Plus" sized as a second choice. It arrived in about 4 days. Looked cheap and embarrassing out of the package. Put it on with the help of my daughter (who is to blame for this whole thing anyway) and Holy Cow! This looks fantastic on me! I look like a big bulky muscular gladiator ready to enter the Colossevm! This is freaking awesome! Drawbacks are a plenty though. The velcro is weak, so some attachments need to be safety-pinned to keep them on. And since it is a "Plus" size thing, you'll need to pin it in a couple spots in the back to get it to fit tightly. Wear any black sandals. Comes with the shin guard thingies, gauntlets, upper arm bands and the main costume of white tunic, fake leather dress thingy and red cape. You don't get the plastic sword and shield, but I didn't need that. Ordered a goofy helmet too, but what came in the mail was completely useless, so I'll just be going with my bald head exposed. I am a 6'1" 250-260lb bodybuilder so pretty easy to fill this costume, but it'll fit a wide range of body types and sizes with enough safety pins scattered around. If you are a smaller frame, you'll want to go with the other model that has a medium and small option. Just need my wife to get a sexy Cleopatra outfit...

Not bad! But be warned, because there is no sword or shield like in the photo. I even went back to look to see if it clearly states that there is no sword or shield included, but it does not, or at least not on the initial add that I could see. It really should be there plain in bold letters. But that is the sad nature of marketing. Somehow though, I did not expect a sword, but I was hoping for a shield. At least they did not show a helmet that isn't there. I have extensive "prop manufacturing" experience, so I had a nice sword made form sheet metal (roofing flashing) in a couple of hours. But a wooden cut out covered with spray mounted aluminum foil with duct tape wrapped thickly for the handle would do just fine. Lack of shield and sword notwithstanding, to me, the costume was a descent snag for the money! It did require three or four safety pins here and there. But hey, when you have to be general in the fit to allow for all kinds of bodies, what else can you expect? Mine was a "large", I think. But they run large, so be careful! I am 6 feet 1 inches, and I thought the "under dress" or toga part was a bit short, as it came to just above my knee caps. But that is just me. I never even wear shorts except to swim, so that part probably wouldn't bother most guys. Anyway, it was a big hit at he play I was in! And if you have a bit of imagination, and little time to make a sword, or a shield, get them somewhere, you can make it a really, really cool outfit! But for a costume party, or something like that, it would stand alone just fine.

This Costume/uniform looks great. i received a lot of positive compliments about it when I wore it for the Easter Skit. I really wish that it came with a Sword or Spear. I use my real spear, which I purchased from Amazon several years ago. Quite a few people realized that the spear was real. I put the cover on when I poke J.....s in the side. I recommend that the wearer consider getting help to put all on and to make sure you use a few safety pins to reinforce the self-gripping areas. I would include the photo I have, but I forgot to take off my glasses.

I received many compliments for my appearance wearing this costume, so that merited at least 3 stars for an overall review. The costume is a good value for the price, but it's clearly not the most quality material. The leggings and arm braces have velcro snaps that don't hold very strongly, there are no sandals included with the costume, and it doesn't include a sword and shield. I ordered a size I thought best for my build, but it turned out to be larger than needed. Still, with a little adjustments - bobby pins to the rescue - it held up during an intense 4 hours of dancing on a very humid, sweaty night.

It's a costume and it has that typical costume material. If you keep that in mind, I think this was a great purchase! I got a lot of compliments when I wore it for Halloween. The size of the torso section was a bit big for me, so consider sizing down. If you have bigger arms, you may have to forgo the armbands. They were pretty tight. It's pretty comfortable, all things considered. But definitely buy velcro pads, because the velcro it comes with is NOT going to hold up. I'm happy with the price though. I've work it for 2 Halloweens, so it has at least that much durability!

Overall great for the price. I'm 6'1" tall and weigh 185 lbs; the small fits easily. I used some black safety pins on the shoulder piece and shin guards to keep everything in place. It ties midway up your back, which is adequate, but I wish it had another tie at the back of the neck in the shoulder area; it would feel a lot more secure. That said, it seems to all stay in place reasonably well. I used some inexpensive black flip flops I had for shoes. It matched pretty well.

Although a little fiddly to get on the first time, once sorted this is actually a pretty good costume. I'm 170cm tall (short !) with a 42 inch chest 32inch waist and the medium fits great and would cope with someone taller and maybe up to 44 chest and 38 waist. The underdress bit is knee length and quite thin material. The velour effect sort of rubberized chest plate is comfortable and looks effective. You would have to spend quite a lot more to get anything more genuine looking.

They costume looks amazing and has good detail. My only complaint is that the velco does not stay on so we had to pin the costume part on, unfortunately.

D’ailleurs très surpris par les finitions et la qualité des matières car des amis ont investi la même dans un costume similaire acheté sur Amazon et rien à voir (cf) la photo en PJ. Ce costume est mieux fini car il intègre les protège tibia, c’est un vrai plastron avec mousse, le bandeau pour la tête, des accessoires pour les bras. J’ai fais des ajustements au niveau des accroches tibia car pas assez velcroc.

Habe das Kostüm für Fasching (Karneval) gekauft und mit einem Loorbeerkranz als Cäsar-Kostum getragen, da mir die anderen Cäsar-Kostüme nicht gefallen haben. Meine Kollegen/Freunde waren begeistert! Bis auf Schild, Schwert und Schlapfen ist alles dabei was auf dem Produktbild zu sehen ist. Material wirkt sehr authentisch, der Brustpanzer ist natürlich nicht aus leder sonder aus einer Art Filz-Schaumstoff, die Oberfläche ist aber sehr gut gemacht. Besser als bei einem Spartaner Kostüm dass ich einmal trug, bei dem der Brustpanzer aus Gummi war, komisch roch und man sehr darunter schwitzte. Die einzelnen Teile werden mit Klettverschluss aneinander befestigt, man sollte sie aber noch mit Sicherheitsnadeln sichern. kleines Manko: der Schulterschild war bei meinem Produkt nicht so schön geformt wie auf dem Bild sondern stand relativ gerade seitlich weg. Das konnte ich mit einer kleinen Naht korrigieren, so dass er sich nun wie auf dem Bild um die Schulter legt. Klare Kaufempfehlung (175cm sportlich, Größe S passt, könnte sogar noch etwas kleiner sein)
