Solid, if overall average
One thing that I appreciated about this guide was that it didn't pretend to be some magical cure for your hesitation about choosing a major. It's a big commitment, and the author didn't act as if he had some miraculous key to finding the right one.Instead, the book leads you through several exercizes that attempt to gauge your interests through different methods, some of which I'd never considered. One thing I will caution possible future users about is the info in the back of the book on salary and job growth rates. I don't know how often it's updated in the book, but it's the same type of info that's on the Occupational Outlook Handbook, which is updated annually and put out by the department of labor, so I would double-check any stats there. The book also suggests at one point that you consider your Holland Type, but doesn't provide a Holland quiz, so again, you have to find your own online. In the end, the book is solid but not the only resource you should use, and I would not recommend buying it if you can borrow it.

This book has been very helpful with a few kids in our family trying to make college decisions. Worth having.
