This item worked very well at first. Our dog would bark once, briefly, at the mailman, UPS driver, dog walkers, etc; however, after a week or two it no longer was effective. His barking is back to being just as bothersome as before. I did follow the instructions and used the test button as directed, so I can only assume it is functioning properly - but our dog has grown accustomed/developed a tolerance to the ultrasound. I guess we may have to move on to a collar with vibration, or even mild shock.

This is super sensitive to any sound. I was out side just talking and noticed the red light going off with out the dogs barking. A felt bad and turned it off. If this only reacted to the sound of dogs barking it would be great.

While this has not stopped the dog next door from barking, it does seem to take the intensity down a little bit. I keep thinking it's not working because it still barks a lot at night, but the dog gets louder after the battery dies. I use cheap batteries and replace every 3-4 weeks.

Did not work for our dog, however, the company fully refunded our money even outside the return window. We placed it outside and the moisture got to it, rendering it inoperative. Recommend for indoors

I researched and read reviews before deciding on this bark control device. It arrived on time and I was optimistically excited to put it into action. I read the entire box and insert, put in new batteries, ran test mode, and hoped for the best.From the moment I opened that huge smiling amazon box the red flags started popping up. This device has indoor/outdoor written in the product title listing. The product box was simply labled outdoor. I read through the included insert which had a "common questions" section. One question specifically asked if this product could be used indoors. The response was "no. This product is intended for outdoor use only. Ultrasonic dog bark control is suitable for indoor use." What?!?!?Regardless of the mystery over indoor/outdoor use, the test function is not explained and no instructions on how to test are given. I set it up anyway, turned the "stick" to the 3 position and put the device, facing our barker, lower than 5 feet, and waited. Within a few minutes the transit bus pulled up, which is a favorite to bark at with all those people getting on and off. The doors open, people appeared, i listened...and the sound of dogs barking rang through the halls. Not a flinch. Not a hesitation. Nothing.What i have learned: if amazon tells you that your dog will stop barking if you have thid $40 plastic box w/ a blinking light-dont belive them!

Did not notice any reaction from the dogs. Too difficult to place so it would work properly

Worked for about a month until my dog either stopped hearing it or just stopped caring. I was amazed at first how well it worked, but it seems like my dog just got used to it or decided to ignore it when the device goes off.

This product works exceptionally well but the battery connections are too loose. It stopped working after three months.
