What's the warranty? And what's the life expectancy?

I do not no nor do I have any idea what the life expectancy is for this product. I can say that I work commercial Landscaping. Hardscapes backfills trenches trees. I have push this cart harder than anyone in their right mind ever should. I have personally put at least 500 lbs on it then took it up and downhill through rugged terrain across 8 Acres. It's so much stronger than they say it is. And can do so much more.

Are both wheels powered or just one? 2wd or 1wd?

There is a differential so both wheels are powered.

Question 3

I have to go down hill as much as uphill. Will a heavy load get away from me on a down slope?

No if you want to move a heavy load have someone in front ot help slow the load down.  I also have to go up and down a lot but I stoped taking heavy loads down hill and bring the heavy stuff with my DR power wagon

I am confused by the two different weight capacities stated in the ad, first is 500 lbs. max load, second is 1000 lbs. hauling.  Can somebody explain?

The 500 lbs is how much weight you can put into the cart and drive around with it. The 1000 lbs is the towing capacity if you install a trailer hitch (which cannot be used while you have a load in the cart). So if you want to move a trailer around your driveway, for example, you can use the cart as a tug. I have the trailer hitch, and it has a fatal flaw: the hitch is not mounted directly over the axle, so when you try to move the trailer, the cart tries to flip the handlebars up when you start to pull the trailer. I was caught by surprise, and my cart flipped forward, slamming into my trailer as the hitch (and trailer tongue) dropped to the ground as the cart rotated. Aside from being dangerous, it damaged the throttle switch, and I’ve been waiting 3 months to hear back from their nonexistent customer service.
