Teachings on Love

love this book, have had it for years, bought this one for my daughter as a gift, this book helped me in so many ways after i experienced clinical depression, to help teach me the right way to think about love and also taught me that my thoughts and beliefs about how to think of myself and others were pretty straight on, it was just the encouragement i needed to be and express my true self.

Thich Nhat Hanh writes things in an easy to digest manner. His teachings on love might require more than one read through and some practice to get the hang of, but is well worth the time spent studying. You don't have to be Buddhist to learn from his writings...just open minded and willing to open your heart. His teachings on love apply to friends and family and even strangers...it teaches kindness.

Thay , the Buddhist monk, is very wise and compassionate. The last 1/3 of book seem to be written for advanced practitioners.

I love Thay, as we call Thich Nhat Hanh in his community. All his books are great. I have been reading them for decades, and I started retreating with him and Sister Chan Khong, starting in 2001. I have even been to Plum Village, twice, though I live in Northern California.

Here it is. READ IT. We are relying on you to read it and share the love, that is how it works!

This is a basic meditation for Buddhism. The way Thay writes, gets into you heart and helps you understand , not only repeat, but really understand, that you have to love yourself before you can love, forgive and make happinness possible for yourself and the rest of the people you know. And even further, by changing your love for yourself you can be a good influence in the Universe!

I've read several books from Thich Nhat Hanh and each one has its own blend of wisdom and I've found them worth reading for their straight forward, practical advice an he never sounds proselytizing the way some religious books can.

If you have read other books by Thich Nhat Hanh then this is very similar in places but still worth a read. Not finished it yet but it has some wise words all of us would benefit from.If you have never ready any of Thich Nhat Hanh's books then this will be very informative and worth buying.

This book is amazing, it opens your perspective on what being in a relationship means. Everybody should read it and truly open their hearts in such a nurturing and honest way.

海外のヨガイントラクラスに参加する際、クラスが始まる前に読むようにいわれた本です。今まで自分が異性に対して使っていた『love/愛』が薄っぺらかったとういか、自分の気持ちを押し付けたものだったのかなぁと考えてしまいました。読むとなるほど…と思いますが、実践するのは難しい。
