The Dalstrong Hornet Rust Eraser works. I used it on a pair of scissors and followed the instructions exactly as written on the package. After cleaning and drying the metal, I applied Walrus Oil as a final step. The rust came off cleanly, the surface looked refreshed, and the Walrus Oil added a nice protective finish. I didn’t even know Walrus Oil existed before this, but now it’s part of my maintenance routine.

Removes rust very easily!!!

This is, by far, my favorite way of getting rust off scissors and knives. It will slightly etch the metal, so definitely rub off the rust along the grain of the knife or scissors. I've tried the products that have you soak the knife, scissors or tool and, although they work well, nothing beats the convenience and ease of this product. Soak in water for 5 minutes, wet down the rusted item and the rust comes off easily with a little bit of elbow grease depending on how rusted the item in. I could not be happier!

Used with my Battle Sword. The product claims to be a rust remover, yet I find that it doesn't work very well for that at all. Regardless of what solution I pair with it in its usage, there are always better options. Maybe I just haven't found the right product to pair with it? I wish people could respond to Amazon Reviews. Otherwise, I believe that this is for delicate, light-duty use only. Other than that it is a cool block and I appreciate it's Japanese origin.

I used on some fixed blade that sat in their sheath too long. Cleaned them up good, im happy and recommend it.

I bought this expecting it not to work. I was wrong. It worked great! Quick job and my entire knife drawer looks new again.

Could not belive how easy and good that product works!

I was surprised that this worked as well as it did. Someone in my house had left my new santoku knife in the sink with bleach spray all over it. This little block got rid of the small amounts of rust and didn't scratch it or rub off the logo on the knife when I had to go over that. Just this, water and elbow grease is all it took.

If you have a lot of carbon steel knives it’s great to have one of these just in case of any rust or corrosion on them, works exactly as intended and it’s great for rounding the sharp corners on whetstones aswell
