Very good but dated

This book is in the pilothouse of every ship in the US Navy. 'Nuff said.I find it useful as a basic reference, for vocabulary, and for filling the gaps that Bowditch leaves.The chapters are well laid out, the information is well indexed, and topics proceed logically. The illustrations are clear and useful.
