A must buy for anyone interested in the trade!
If you’re going to buy just one book on the subject of flower farming this has to be it! I have bought and read a lot of books on the subject, this is the winner so far. Second would be Liza Mason Ziegler’s “Cool Flowers”, and number 3 would be Erin Benzakein’s “Cut Flower Garden”. I believe this one has the most comprehensive amount of information that is easy to understand and implement than any other book I’ve been through.

A must have, obvs
I love, love, love this book. I am looking to launch my own business in about a year, and I am very grateful for the welcoming tone set by this book. I will very likely find myself reading this over again as I narrow down my vision and business plans. The photography was beautiful, and the sections well written. There are also recommendations for further reading at the end. This book is equal parts inspirational and practical. She does not give false hope, like everything will just be peachy keen if you follow a certain formula. She instead highlights where mistakes or acts fo God are likely to occur and how bad it could get.

Very Impressed
This book was recommended by a presenter at a small farm conference a few years back. Finally I bought the book when the timing was right for me. The book has surpassed my expectation of information and will be a continual reference book for me. Very detailed information on all aspects of growing and marketing cut and dried flowers from the author's and from others many years of experience. Very practical information on what types of flowers to grow in different regions of the US and different avenues to market the flowers. Therefore the reader can adapt / tailor the information to suit their own situation. Already as a beginner, I have begun to apply the author's suggestions. I highly recommend this book to others who are considering growing and selling cut flowers. Good sources and resources in the back of the book. My only regret is I do not live on a farm next to author. I will read anything she writes.

Very helpful books
A really practical book. I liked the nitty gritty information such as how to calculate compost without weighing it (no-one has scales for that !). I also liked the honest pros and cons of things like whether to pinch or not. But most of all I loved the drawn illustrations of cutting beds for beginners. My only problem is that I live in the subtropics in Australia so all the seasons are different and I have too much light and heat.I will be rereading this a couple of times. Thank you.

ottima guida
Molto completa e precisa.

Good comprehensive book.
Good comprehensive book. I bought this as I had rented a four acre field and was going to really go for it and grow dahlias etc for profit. Although it all fell through eventually it was not for lack of knowledge. This book, although written for the USA, (I am in the UK), is an absolutely invaluable resource. How to get the maximum output from a given space, the economic considerations of going for a greenhouse or to invest in a cooler, (to preserve flowers after picking), it really has it all, including how to identify which flowers are in demand and how to go about marketing them. I got to the point of securing some deals with local florists, and the knowledge I gained from this book gave me the confidence to hold my own in negotiations instead of coming across like an apologetic amateur.Much of the book has still been of use to me outside of the business aspects. Not really into flower arranging myself but there is a good section on this. The photographs in the book are to the point, are relevant and professional. A good read and a good buy. Recommended.

More than a starter book !
Bought this book to assess the possibility to start in the business. I found the author to be very encouraging while remaining realistic and business oriented. This work was very thorough but never too factual nor too theoretical. The writer remains within the many practical aspects of running a flower farm for decent profit, a lot of hard work and, it seems, lots of fun. Priceless source of information.I never was bored and the reading kept me interested, almost on the edge of my seat. For passionate gardeners, be they amateurs of professionnals.
