Powerful little bulb! But I strongly recommend use with dimmer
These are better than I was expecting! First things first is i would say use this bulb with a dimmer to correctly regulate your pet's basking spot. Amazon sells domes with integrated dimmers which work awesome. The bulb shoots a very focused spot and also a shoots lot of heat focused in that spot. So it would be very easy to burn your pet if not calibrated with a dimmer. Once dialed in to the correct intensity and by temperature measurements it's awesome!! The colors of my dragons look nice and natural under it. I don't have a uv meter so I can't verify how much uvb it puts out but I do notice the dragons like it better than the standard pet store basking bulb and they darken themselves under it to take it in, just the same way they do when i take them outside in direct natural sunlight... So i think that is a good sign it's giving them what they want. I definitely will be buying more of these bulbs. I've been using them daily for a few weeks and so far holding up. A few things that may be helpful is don't ever touch the bulb with bare fingers, it comes wrapped in tissue so you can screw it in without touching. Using on a dimmer maybe also helping the life since it's not running at 100%. And third, having the light mounted so you don't have to move it to open your enclosure, mine has front doors so i never have to bump & move the fixtures which can shorten bulb life. Great bulbs 👍🏼👍🏼

Awesome Halogen Bulbs!
These work perfectly for my leopard gecko, providing a wonderful warm spot! However, it can get really hot the closer the bulb is to the surface. It can easily reach 100+ degrees Fahrenheit at about over 14 inches. I've bought this bulbs before, but a different wattage, and I know an issue some people have with these, though it's kind of in design, is that sometimes they can be short lived. Some tips I've found to potentially expand their life is: 1. Don't have it on 24/7. Reptiles do better with a day/night cycle anyway, so turning it off at night will help increase its longevity 2. Don't touch the bulb or such with your bare hands. The oils on your hands can heat up on the bulb and cause it to break/shatter. I always handle the bulbs with paper towels or such to minimize that chance of happening. But yeah! This makes a perfect daytime heat spot and is good for energy efficiency!

Turn off at night
Great light and actually heats but if you keep it on during the night it will heat up too match and burn out, make sure to turn off during the night to let it cool off.

Rebought 3 times already. Works great!
I got two pet turtles during the pandemic and I needed UVB lights to keep them alive. Been using these bulbs for the past two and a half years. Internet says I need to replace every six months, so I’ve been buying and rebuying not because the lightbulbs went out, but because I want to be on the safe side and keep my turtles alive.

Good longevity-very pleased with this product.
Some people have said their bulbs burn out too quickly. The manufacturer recommends running them for not more than three hours a day for maximu bulb life. Since I have nocturnal lizards I use them three hours a day about three days a week and have had no problems-I am still on my first bulb. They do emit some heat, helping create a temperature gradient within the tank.

Not Sure
Consistency? Have been using for a week. The first couple of days it kept the heat for my tortoise nicely, but have noticed it’s not putting out as much warmth. Will be purchasing a better lamp soon.

Great bulb
The bulb that came with my light burned out. This one says it's the same wattage as the one I had, but it's so much brighter. My turtles love the extra light. And such a great value for the money!

Happy Tortoise
I bought these lightbulbs for my daughter’s Russian tortoise. One bulb lasted about a year with her running it about 8 hrs a day. It cost less than the reptile lights at the pet store and provides her tortoise with needed UVB light. It does get hot but the tortoise loves the warmth from it. He sunbathes daily under it.
