Great Smoker
My husband loves his Masterbuilt Smoker. He has owned three of these. They last about 5-7 years. We leave ours covered and under the carport. Over time the burner starts to determinate and it starts to either not want to start the fire or the burner has corroded and the flames seem to become too much. Overall, itโs a great smoker and the food that comes out of it taste like real barbecue. My husband starts it off wit a pan full of charcoal and/or wood chips. Then he lights the burner to keep the food cooking. Love the thermostat and that help maintain a good cooking temperature.

You need to add A little adjustments
I had this product before and it was great. This time I got it from amazon with a warranty. I have friends with pellets and electric smokers but gas to me gives more smoke flavor. Controlling the temp is alittle tricky but Youโll find ways to get it where you want it. Also needs to be tweaked! Before use buy HIGH HEAT SPRAY PAINT and paint the inside. This will stop the smoker from peeling inside. Not the grates, just the smoker! Also grab gasket sealer to seal the smoker door so no smoke gets out. And finally always put aluminum foil at the bottom to catch drippings and easy clean up. It will last you along time if you take care of it, which I didnโt the first time! But the smoker is great! Smoke on!

Easy to use
Gets the job done. Wood chips even when soaked burn quickly. Door is a bit off, have to pull up when latching. Have to open door when adding wood chips.

Great big smoker but thin rust prone bottom panel and ring.
I had 2 of these before this one. I love the size, 24" wide and the number of racks, the adjustability of rack location and the finished product always tastes great. The one great big negative is the ring in the bottom of the smoker that the smoker bowl fits over will rust out in a NY minute. Some folks say its the LP gas or byproducts that are corrosive. I dont know. The smoke bowl that you put wood chips or chunks in rusts/burns out pretty quick too. You can make or substitute a different smoke pan so that is not deal breaker. The door on my new one is crooked and does not seal well at top left corner. Maybe can shim it or seal with and oven gasket. Maybe close the damper and let smoke out where it does not seal. Ran in to a problem trying to register for warranty which according to MB/SH you have to do. This model # is not listed. You cannot register without it. I did file a warranty claim by selecting a listed model # and saying mine was not listed. You cannot call MB/SH, all you get is a recorded message telling you everything has to be done on line. I call this TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE but this is what the world has come to. These companies have gotten so cheap they wont even pay for an off shore 3rd world call center for their customer service. Also to register for warranty you have to take a picture of your receipt and the back of the smoker where the model # and serial # are. You have to upload the pictures during the registration process. I like the concept, the ease of use and what it does for ribs, butts and briskets but the rust out problems, fit and finish, total lack of customer service would recommend you look else where.

so far so good
I was ready to leave an electrical smoker for a larger gas smoker...(I know) to smoke larger pieces and amounts. I am still learning how to regulate the heat so I don't turn the ribs into jerky- happened once so far. My wife is not a rib person at all and is satisfied that I bought a useful device that will be enjoyed for time to come. 1 downfall is the door...open it and all the heat/smoke escapes. I am looking to purchase a welding blanket or smoker robe to better trap the heat inside. I think a larger water bowl would be helpful and a cast iron pot for the wood chips.
