A beautifully finished and easily played low D NAF. Great value!
Having read about the difficulty of playing the bigger NAF, I was leery of getting a low D flute. I found this one to be about as easy as my A and F# flutes. The workmanship and wood is top notch. And yes, that is real wood inlay on each side. The Cherry is of high quality and has a silky smooth finish. But of all it has a rich throaty tone that I expected from the bottom end of its scale. I am a very satisfied owner of this Spirit flute.

Damaged
The flute at first appeared to be well constructed but after a closer examination I discovered that the wood of the totem which sits on top of the flute and is responsible for the tone had a crack in it. I think this will enlarge over time and change how the flute sounds. I'm sure whoever checks these flutes (quality control) should have noticed this and replaced the totem. At this time I am definitely disappointed with my flute.

This is a "miss"
not quite what I expected in a flute. description should note that the flute is made of two pieces of wood, and made quite sloppily: the seams are not flush on the inside of the flute and and I could easily see where the adhesive oozed out from the seams and was allowed to dry, also on the inside of the flute. Also, the outside of the flute stank of lacquer so much so that I could not play the flute for about 2 weeks after I received it. Although pretty to look at, this flute does not have the attention to detail that my other flutes have. The tone is ok, not wonderful, probably due to the internal unevenness of the wood. I would not buy from this flute maker again nor would I recommend this flute for much more than an idle conversation piece.

Looks better than it plays.
Looks better than it plays. Was disappointed by the inner craftsmanship. Wish I would have spent more for a better quality. Right now it's sitting on the mantle, where it will probably stay.

Native American Flute - Key of Low D
I have been using this flute for about six weeks now. It's tone is beautiful. I have found two things about this flute that made me rate it slightly lower that 5 stars. 1. The fret on top is EXTREMELY sensitive about its position and 2. it does not like to play high F and G. I had to learn to handle it to make it work on these notes. However, it is the flute that my audience preferrs to hear. Comments are: the sound is "hauntingly beautiful" and "a very comforting sound" according to my audience. Thank you for making this beautiful flute. The workmanship in the finishing is so nice. Carol Whitten

exemplary flute experience
After reading the reviews of this flute (Native American Flute - Cherry - Spiritual Healing - Professional Model - Deep Key Low D) decided to purchase one. It is as beautifully crafted as was suggested in a review. It's easy to play and the sound is low and melodic. I have a number of flutes and one of the best qualities of this one so far is how snug the "fetish" is. A number of my other wood flutes require tying off the fetish/ totem every other time I play it. I like that this one seems so secure. The fact that it comes with a stand, a carrying bag, cd, dvd and song book is a great advantage. Although I have played native american flutes for close to 15 years, I have played around with them making up my own tune and songs. Having the song book is an additional incentive to "get it right and learn the correct notes". That part has been fun and instructional for me. The how to play a flute dvd is very clear, focused and simple to understand. I'd give the whole experience an A ++ and would definitely try another flute by this maker.

Five Stars
This was my first purchase of (Native American Flute - Cherry - Spiritual Healing - Professional Model - Deep Key Low D). I have to say that after receiving this flute I could see why there were so many positive reviews. It was delivered within the time range allowed for shipping and the packaging was well thought out to avoid any damage from handling. One end of the box received a bit of abuse, but the flute was not affected at all. The craftsmanship of this flute is amazing! I was impressed with the inlay detail and fine finish of the cherry wood. Each sound hole was given extra attention for tuning and the hand carving was very precise. The cherry base was an added attraction which really compliments the quality of the flute. This flute has a very soothing, deep tone and is a pleasure to play and listen to. I am not a professional musician by any means, but this flute just felt right in my hands with its light weight, balance, and hole positions. After a few warm ups in getting used to the sound holes for fingering, I could even play some of the half holes in no time. This is definitely a five star product.
