Greenwood Nursery: Live Ground-Cover Plants - Vinca Minor + Lesser/Dwarf Periwinkle - [Qty: 50 Bare Roots] - (Click for Other Available Plants/Quantities)

These are full size plants, not the little ones you get in plastic packs. They were wrapped 25 per bundle in wet paper to keep the roots moist. Upon receipt, I immediately took them out of the box and put them in some water until I'm ready to plant them. Let the water absorb through the roots, then give it a couple of days before I water them again. They are nice and shiny green and very healthy. I will order other plants from Greenwood Nursery in the future. Very satisified.

Plants were healthy, well packaged for shipment. Success rate in terms of planting very nearly 100%. Can’t ask for better. I think the trick to planting is to generously fill each hole with potting soil and then water twice a day for at least the first week. I would definitely order from this nursery in future.

I did everything I could to save these plants following directions and webwite suggestions to try and save these plants. Despite my attempts, the plants still died anyway. I did not report what happened. I feared if I purchased and made a second order, the Greewood nursery would send me another set of plants that were in poor condition like the first order.. I let the plant totally die before writing this review. After awhile, I wanted the plants so bad, I ordered them again. I would not recommend purchasing these flowers to anyone. They are high maintenance and easily die.

Vince Minor (Creeping Myrtle)- Sold in bundles of "50" live plants. Mine were more like 35 plants each. Some plants were stems without roots and others were 2 stems sharing one root (that's only one plant). Online instructions were poor. The only relevant instructions were general guidelines on planting perennials. There were no instructions for planting Creeping Myrtle.

I ordered 50 bare root Vinca minor plants on August 1 . The order shipped 8/3 by USPS with estimated delivery 8/7-11. I was worried about how the plants would fare with this long shipment time during the heat of the summer. The shipment arrived in the late afternoon on 8/12. The package was intact. On opening it I was pleased to find the bundle looking a little limp but still green and with the paper towel around the roots still slightly moist! I submerged the roots in water over night and the next day it looked perkier. I planted about 60 plants the that day (8/13) about 8 to 12 inches apart. The plants were small, usually with a single stem but with a decent root on each. I watered them daily and mulched them. After a week I switched to every other day watering. The weather was stretto consistently in the mid 80's at midday. Today, on 9/1, 20 days after planting they are doing very well. Many of the plants have formed buds or new leaves. They look healthy and well. I only had two plants that died out of over 60 planted. The pictures show the buds and new leaves and the area planted. This batch was planted from the existing ground cover to the first tree. the rest of the plants are from another vendor. I think the result warrants five stars. I gave four stars because of the delay in delivery. Probably not the vendors fault. Alcon

Plants came fast and were healthy. I have planted all of them and they are starting to grow well.

Ordered 40 plants. I received more than 40. Excellent condition. Roots wrapped and moist, leaves bright green. Soaked them in a cup of water over night. Planted all 40+, all doing well. Hint for planting them. Use a drill with a 1" bit. Dill a 3- to 4-inch-deep hole in the ground, wiggle the bit as your drilling to enlarge the hole. Drop the root in, Push dirt around it. I planted 50+ in about a 20 minutes.
